The reality of war: winning combat tactics for ground battles at BR 1.0 to 7.7.
First, send the AA trucks to the front line. They are fast, nimble and can shred everything they see. Don’t worry about the enemy tanks: unless you are German or US… your technology is 20 years ahead of them, they don’t stand a chance. And don’t bother looking at the sky, you’re better off fighting tanks than planes.
Follow swiftly with the Artillery guns. Send them to the front line to support the AA trucks. Their massive explosive rounds will one shot everything with direct fire, including the planes. Their main task is actually to protect the AA trucks from enemy planes, of course.
Then, send the light and medium tanks straight to the capture points. Don’t count on them too much. Use them to distract your enemies while your AA and artillery guns shoot at them. Don’t bother flanking, you’r likely not fast enough anyway, (specially if you’r against Russia) you risk encountering an enemy’s heavy tank before reaching your position. Definitely don’t mark your enemies on the map or your allies may kill them before you do!
Keep you assault guns and heavy tanks hidden away, far from the battle. Snipe what passes in front of you then quickly retreat behind cover. Avoid direct confrontation, as your armor is too weak.
Send your planes as soon as possible:
– First the strategy bombers, they are only 2 minutes away and don’t need precision with their massive bombs. Plus, if you’re Russian your strategic bomber will also be immune to your enemy AA: you fly too high for their munitions to do anything to your plane, AND don’t forget, you can also dogfight after you release your bomb, so no fear!
– your other planes have great pilots. Their amazing trained eyes can locate targets by looking at the ground thru their plane’s wings! And they are masters at dropping bombs with laser precision while doing a hammerhead turn at 400 km/h. Your enemy is trying to hide behind a building? no problem, drop the bomb on the other side of the building, the building will be fine.
Last, don’t forget this mantra: prototypes of vehicles are always better than the massed-produced ones.
As any historian will tell you, like this famous expert here, that is exactly how combat operations were conducted in conflicts when tanks were involved until mid last century!
