Conraie made a great post about the difference between AAAC-I and AAAC-II. Changing the name of XM885 to AAAC-I and offering an option to use AAAC-II would fix the problem. Here’s the post

aight, so it was changed. no wonder such change is easy to miss. So now it has sligthly less pen at close range for slightly more pen at long range.
did this change affect its actual performance?

Not really but the HSTV/RDF always had trouble penning leos. Increasing the pen of the round would make the rounds more reliable. I can waste up to 8 shots on one leopard whereas a t-series is 1-2 shots

i play hstvl quite alot, its pretty minor honestly
i would love for it to get a round buff tho, non penning manlet or barrel sometimes is annoying
the only chance of you winning a frontal engagement(which is more common than u think) is shooting barrel or manlet. Most of the time, they arent reliable

Yes not as much of a problem in the RDF having 2x the ammo capacity but when playing the HSTVL you can use 40% of your ammo on one leo. Still for a 11.7 that’s pretty terrible.
I’m not sure myself because the XM274 isn’t actually used on the HSTVL/RDF. I believe Delta ammo is used on the XM274 and AAAC-II is for the admag
rdflt just suck, u can 50 cal it, has no smoke, has speed as much as a t-80(both forward and reverse), slower than hstvl, basically 1s19
i remember sth about admag cannot use delta 6(which has 430mm pen) and admag can only use sth delta 3(which is m774 level), ive been off the case for a while so i dont remember much
From what I understand
AAAC-1 has the 2lb penetrator
AAAC-2 has the 3lb penetrator (may have been called the Super 75 with this round)
Delta 3/6 XM885 were confused by everyone at some point as being the ammo the HSTVL/RDFLT used. They didn’t use XM885 at all, just AAAC-1, AAAC-2 and a DARPA HE fuse round. XM885/XM884 was used on the XM274 cannon on the LAV chassis

I believe he is confusing the DARPA to ARES letter. That mail was talking about the AAAC-2, not Delta 6. The 3 LB penetrator AAAC-2 was mistakenly referred to as the DELTA 6 round by almost everyone. We all thought that HSTVL used the XM274 at the time.
Conraie would be able to shed better light on this.
