Rating players

Reward for all players: You keep getting engaging, fun matches against opponents who rather than rightfully give up in frustration, keep trying again and again.

Do you seriously prefer shooting people who can’t even control their planes to people who give you cool dogfights you can clip and upload to youtube even if you lose?

I know I prefer opponents who can give me cool fights without dominating me in turn. It’s quite disappointing to get into what might be a desperate 1 vs 1 duel in ASB and then your opponent starts spinning after the merge.

The reward for doing well in 1-3 matches is getting sent to the shadow realm of sweats for 3-5 matches.

There are “SBMM” too, but they are not that often, they are called “Cadet […]”

SBMM will never work in this game because the vehicles themselves are so widely imbalanced both naturally and artificially. There’s too many widely different variables at play that any such rating system just can’t work.

Hell, Gaijin can’t even get the BR system sorted properly. What makes you think they could get an SBMM system working in any kind of respectable way?

does it appear on top on top or do i have to scroll to my position?

On bottom, or it just says the place like here:

You can also scroll through each page (arrows below)

I don’t think the opposite is the rule either, because you would have to have a set measurement of what is considered good.

I think team skill based matchmaking would be the best for warthunder, you basicly have teams with almost the same average skill but within a certain maximum range between the best player and the worst player so you dont have an extremely good guy in a team that is really low “skilled” compared to him

no. this only punished good and bad players alike.

No. The average team position % is the current balancing factor, and it really should stay that way as it measures your overall contribution to games way better than K/Ds or cherry picked stats that, if applied to the matchmaker, they’ll only turn the experience in a wasteland.

Then why do you have matches that some one has 10 kills and the team is like 0-2 kills with the other team having more that 1 guy with 7-10 kills ?

Good days/lucky games exist.
Cheaters as well. But in good faith, i’ll appeal to my first point.

There’s a plethora of factors, including 1v1 vehicle comparison, uptiers/downtiers, vehicle capabilities, map layouts, etc.

You talk like you have never seen a level 34 nailling 6 frags in a minute with a XM800T.

i dont think ive ever met a cheater in arb, do they even play arb?

would make queue time much longer, but could be interesting

Well, ARB by itself is a skillcheck on managing positioning, energy, timing, etc. Those concepts limit the damage cheaters do to mostly ESP.
And that’s not the case for GRB, the place we’re talking about. Speaking of GRB, meet WTCS, he has tons of videos of flagrant cheating.
