no I just find the f8u’s air brakes work better than the landing flaps

Well, yeah, fist step of flaps is ok, but with flaps full down (and wing hinged upwards) the Crusader is almost impossible to control, I find…

yep if it were any other aircraft I would be using landing flaps, including a p-39(yes it’s possible if you know how)

Yeah, and carrier landings in WT are a bit iffy anyway. When the A-6E was introduced I did a lot of successful ones, then after a patch the undercarriage collapsed at least on one side every single time I tried to land on a carrier.
