Rafale's reign in a top-tier RB?

and it’s still quite is on most of it.

I beg to differ hammy. F22, has not been detected by any aircraft other than its original radar profile unless the pilot of said Raptor allows it. And it has been widely and well known Raptor pilots during war games repeatedly nerf themselves to give others a better chance.

F-22s have yet to face more modern AESA like CAPTOR-E.

surely theyve seen more recent AESA in excercises

They havent faced CAPTOR-E yet, its not on any aircraft that would have taken part in something like Red Flag.

That will be interesting showdown in a few years

there are other modern AESA. all CAPTOR-E does different is move

wouldnt stuff like AN/APG-82 be even more lilkely to detect id due to similar technology level but much higher power draw and availability

and thats only airborne radars, the US has stuff like AN/SPY-6 and -7 that they can test against

And ofc said wargames happen in the exact same scenarios of 16vs16 at the engagement range below 100km, am i correct?

I wouldn’t call that a fair comparison. Stealth technology is way less effective at low frequencies (that’s why weather radars sometimes can detect stealth aircraft but just know the general direction and that “there is something”). The 2 - 4 GHz of the AN/SPY-6, which was also choosen for high range to detect ballistic missiles, is quite good at detecting stealth aircraft but have subpar precision and effectively no identification capabilities so you can’t use it for fire-control. But you could use that information to scan the detected area by higher frequency radars (from different angles) and look for the smallest blip return to hopefully detect it.
The Boeing E-3 AWACS also operates at 2 - 4 GHz so should have a good chance to detect stealth aircraft too.

like the time USAF high command said that F-22 were carrying Fuel tanks, but Videos proved otherwise?
yeah,… fun times

you missed my point

that the US has plenty of modern AESA radars that are better tests for stealth than CAPTOR-E

except they didnt?

idk where you are getting that from

that’s a 2009 story, my dear,… Nato exercise in Middle East.

US Official said that no F-22 were shot-down
but then US pilots admitted one got shot down
so Official claimed that the F-22 was having external fuel tanks, limiting it’s flight capabilities
at that point the French Defence Ministry, released the video of the dofight, proving that the F-22 weren’t equipped with External Fuel Tanks (finishing the US officials)

it’s pretty widely known story, and it have been proved several times,… so, i don’t know how you can’t know about it.

similar thing have been in the recent Trident Atlantic exercise, with F-35 vs Rafale (Rafale won)

The US will never admit that one of their radars can detect the F-22/F-35. Its a bit like how they buried the fact that Vulcans got passed their 100% impentrable air defences during the cold war.

CAPTOR-E Typhoons vs F-35s that the US has no control over, now that will be interesting to see if there is any publically available information for it after the fact.

so your argument is like this

clearly f16C (a late block too) is better than the rafale

and we know the f16 likely had drop tanks when the rafale did not

but it has faced far better radars then the captor-e in the form of ground based radar like the ones found on the patriot system. also the an/apg-81 found on the f-35 witch is widely considered to be the beast radar on any air platform.

That rafale went into rate against an f-16c. No duh it’s gonna lose (irl it would have worse rate than f16c at high altitude)
(This graph shows f-16c before engine upgrade)

Spoiler

Also there’s a source from a presentation that shows rafale sustained at high altitude that we can’t post here and it is much worse irl than it is in game

Interestingly, it is claimed that the Rafale does have higher sustained rates at all levels and that it is more powerful in the entire flight envelope. Further, the pilot does state that he often has to get off of afterburner against the F-16.
