Rafale's reign in a top-tier RB?

around 10,300 kg from what i can find

and a max range of 3500km on internal fuel, combat radius would be about 1250km going off the max range number

having low ammounts of fuel/ eneficcent engines makes it so that once you get close you have to disengage sooner because you start running out of fuel, which is suboptimal to say the least

disengaging will put you in a disadventagous posision

F-22 takes 18,000lb internal and it’s combat radius is 590 nmi. So it isn’t really any less efficient

and that is with external tanks, the Su-57 number is internal fuel only

“more than”

The most recent official numbers are 590nmi combat radius. I doubt it’s with drop tanks too

more than could be as much as the missing 23km to make it 3000km
i have a number for su57 with ferry tanks that is 4500km

i dont think that 1500km is covered by “more than”

How big are the Sukhoi’s ferry tanks?

You also have to remember it’s carrying over 2 tons more fuel internally

idk, lets find out:

with only internal fuel the Su-57 has a max range of 3500km, with a fuel load of 10300kg

10300kg / 3500km = ~2.94 kg/km
2.94 kg/km * 1000km (extra range gained from the tanks) = 2940kg of extra fuel in the tanks

so that diveded by 2 fuel tanks, i would assume that each tank has a capacity of 2000l, just like the ferry tanks for the su35

Su-57 can carry 2x PTB-2000 (2000 litres) or PTB-3400 (3400 litres) drop tanks respectively

there even are said to be “internal fuel tanks” but i havent seen any yet

so if we continue the Napkin math,

if 4000 extra liters of fuel mean 1000km of extra range

1000km / 4000l = 0.25 km/l

0.25 km/l * 6800l = 1700 km of extra range ( ignoring drag and a few other things ofc)

how are the rafale mains able to farm a nearly 70% win rate consistently while im over here fighting for my life to keep it over 50% when playing the su-30, even good planes, cracked missile + good airframe goes crazy

my last month winrate:

I suppose if you play the Rafale you are very likely to also play with fellow Rafales (given the French spawn rates in the BR bracket). You are also likely to not play against other Rafales, since France is not a major nation with tons of players. This combines to amplify the win rate.

Spoiler

~80% a top tier French player is in the Rafale.

However, when playing the Su-30SM you are matched with less meta planes (given the USSR spawn rates in the BR bracket). Additionally, regardless how good the Su-30SM is, it’s much more likely there are Su-30SM on both sides, evening out the win rates.

Spoiler

~53% a top tier USSR player is in the Su-30SM.

Because rafale stomps on everything including the su30

I mean the Rafale is just stupidly easy to fly so I’m not suprised by the winrate.

Well it’s everything an omnirole 4.5 gen should be in war thunder, silly good FM, great radar, outstanding ARHs and DASS. It holds your hand because it’s designed to, and I commend it for that.

The problem is that nothing else really does currently, the Eurofighter is close but feels like it lacks something for the full package (probably HOBS capability).

Eventually more stuff will get added that feel like the Rafale (eg Gripen E, J-10C) and for now the EFTs need to recieve buffs and additions across the board to balance it out, we’ll have little in the ways of true parity between the two

Only because it gets very favorable treatment in this regard

In terms of more than just A2A and more in terms of a multirole. It definetly has 3 clear and immediate issues.

  1. The Radar is an inconsistant and at times an extremely buggy mess. There is some fundemental flaw with the radar that I cant fully explain. On paper, its fine, but in practice… It does things that other radars like the Foxhunter simply dont. It does have a number of outstanding buffs that might aid it, but at this point CAESER or ECRS Mk1/2 are simply needed

  2. HOBS or maybe more generally, missile performance, which you already mentioned. Aim-9Ms and Aim-120C5s are okay… but they have some major issues, especially the 9Ms which just dont suite the playstyle of the Typhoon. Though both would be better with any form of historical accuracy. But IRIS-T and ASRAAM respectively cant come soon enough

  3. A2G loadout, the lack of any form of FnF AGM is just insane, and so the dependency on GPS guided bombs for most of its standoff is just annoying. The aircraft is rather crippled at the moment due to the current lack of historical A2G loadout.

There are other issues worth mentioning like the appalling state of BOL, but thats less of a Typhoon specific problem as that plagues dozens of airframes currently.

tfw nobody point out that F-15E/F-16C buff significantly increase their winrate.

Temporary boost of skilled players coming to these aircraft after hearing about the buffs. Expect this to continue due to the F-15C Golden Eagle just being leaked, US top tier is going to be more popular

It’s such an understatement to say it temporary boost, it’s really what the community need that the major country gets a boost.
