pack it up boys it’s joever before it even began.
bro for a 5th gen f-22 ain’t all that in terms of thrust to weight wow, it’s so mediocre
f-15e level
If the rafale starts dominating the F22 in game because it’s “heavy” and Gaijin fucks up I’m legit going to lose my gourd lol, this has potential to be a massive saga of drama.
And I’m a little drama goblin so I’ll be sure to take it all in.
i doubt it. it was made to spend a lot of time supersonic, it wouldnt make sense for it to be so bad at manuevering in such an important part of its flight envelope
i mean it might just be stuck at 9gs which is horrid for wt.
IRL all planes are limited to 9gs no matter what so it doesnt really matter irl, youre stuck to 9gs no matter what
but in wt, compare old su-33 to old su-27, su-27 easily pulls like 12–14 gs at high speed compared to the only 10-11gs of su-33 due to sheer weight
does that engine have an emergency mode?
thats where TVC would help for WT at least.
not that i know of, it uses FADEC
can you pm it?
internal weapons carriage would give it some advantage over gen 4 but not things like J-20
true, but,
most other 5th gens (su-57, j-20 etc) have much weaker engines than the f-22.
As for j-20, who knows how heavy that thing is, but for su-57, it’s more than a ton lighter.
So it’s not going to be all bad, but darn is it disappointing
…rip
su-57 engines are actually quite a bit weaker than the f-22s, only 31000 lbf each (not including special emergency mode thrust). but since it’s also ~18500 kg, it’s thrust to weight is still decent, but definitely still worse at 1.56
dude rafale thrust to weight is so absurd man for a 4.5 gen. and this is without its m-88-3 engines.
rafale thrust to weight in game at empty with thrust losses (which we aren’t even considering for f-22)

i find it kind of strange though, since ive seen stuff showing the F-22’s non-afterburning performance roughly matches an F-15 on afterburner, and it’s afterburning performance blows it out of the water.
Maybe the F119 really starts to shine when it gets up to typical flight speeds, and not on a static test stand which iirc is where most of the public thrust figures for most engines come from
indeed
well but also more efficent once as a positive side effect
the f-22 engine is pretty fuel hungry from what it seems
How much fuel does the Su-57 carry internally?
F-22 is quoted to be capable of supercruise at M1.76, which is faster than most jets in-game will reach on full AB on our current broom closet-sized maps anyways. Running full AB on a stealth jet is stupid most of the time as well, since it increases the IR signature of your aircraft, which itself decreases stealth. So fuel economy wont be an issue unless gaijin pulls another “marketing lie” out of their rear.
The general design point of stealth aircrafts isnt to “go fast”, its to “get close”, and once again, ppl are hyper-focusing on the wrong aspects of a jet to determine which is “best”.
