So, i’ve been playing top tier a bit more and i just have 2 questions on the radar.
I’m using the f15E right now and i was wondering if there was a way to condense the radar cycle list to 2-3 selections (Mainly PD and TWS).
I was also wondering which mode is best for locking onto missiles (And keeping lock so my missile can destroy it).
No there isnt, but to be honest you only really need TWS and ACM
Probably TWS, maybe a little bit of ACM
I find its best to use IR missiles for this, especially since they changed how speed heating affects missiles last update, but if youre using aim120s you probably dont want to maintain lock on anything because if you have to maintain lock on a missile that is coming to kill you and your missile doesnt defeat the enemy missile, because you hd to maintain lock you lost the opportunity to fly defensively or fly cold
I’ve been using the 7m’s rn for hunting other missiles lol. ill try a 9m next time though
Also forgot to mention. I don’t really like using tws all that much. It keeps my radar stuck at an angle that wont go back to center, usually messing every other mode up.
thats a new thing added last update, there is a new keybind to reset radar angle “reset radar/irst direction to boresight”

You can lock on with both modes if you are using AIM-7s. TWS is better if you have AIM-120s because you dont need to lock on you can just get a soft lock and shoot.
To be honest, if you want to evade the missile, it’s best to notch rather than destroy it, however, if you shoot a missile at the missiles to destroy it, you have to be careful not to move too much as the radar will try to follow you and the missile you shot will have to guide itself to the missiles that’s doing turns to defeat it. So it’s best to fly straight, technically, as your missile won’t lose energy.
