I have a problem since today with the radar elevation. Always played with the gyro stabilisation disable. With this setting the radar antenna stay aligned with the aircraft, so if you want to scan up, you need to climb, and so on. As you know.
When you have a TWS lock, the radar antenna is unlocked and follow the target whatever your maneuver (except for some aircrafts like Su27). As soon as you loose the lock, or reset your radar, elevation go back on the aircraft axis.
But since now, the elevation doesn’t go back to this default position after a radar reset.
Worst thing is I can’t even use the “radar tilt control axis” commands to adjust it.
Same problem with the azimuth axis but in that case, the command to move the scan zone left and right works.
I really don’t understand what’s happening.
I made a short video to show the problem :
I get a TWS lock, put nose up to have my antenna looking down (relative to aircraft), shut down radar, go back on level flight, and put it on again. Then you can see the radar is looking down (and is not gyro stabilized), instead of being on the aircraft axis. And so on…
I’d much rather if I could completely disable the new feature. I got so used to automatic reset, manual tilting and changing the scan area was more like a gimmick to me, now I’m forced to use it. A keybind to reset it isn’t enough for me. There’s so much shit going on in ARB that I don’t have time to tap even more keys.
Just realized this doesn’t work correctly with Su27.
Somehow when I guide a R77, after the lock break, antenna elevation will be changed and the reset command doesn’t work at all.
I noticed the same issue today with the TWS on the F/A-18A and the JAS39C, after I lock and unlock something it stays pinned in the direction of the target with no way to reset it back to the center, making it useless. I can’t reset it with the “reset radar/IRST to boresight” button.
Mig29SMT and Su27SM suffer from this problem as well. It’s amazing how gaijin only ducks up everything every time. I suppose their stupid ancient Dogshit 2.0 engine is partly to blame too.
Just got back into air rb with the f-18 and I’m having the same issue, I wish there was a setting to just reset it automatically, doing it manually is a pain, especially considering I’m on console so my controller is crowded enough with controls
Yes, that’s not what I said though, I want an option to have it automatically reset, the button is genuinely just too much, I play on controller and trying to fit in yet another keybind just won’t work.
this is actually a feature, you now have a brand new keybind to press on top of the other 20 in middle of a fight, reset to boresight to change search zone back to middle, except its broken on 80% of the jets and the reset just not work or it sets searchzones too high up, gaijin is the definiton of if its not broke, break it anyways
The problem not that u have to keybind, problem that on some plane radar stuck after on upright position and no any changes after, me i faced huge elevation on f14 iriaf usa, and on mirage france. I mean u press bring radar to boresight and it constantly struck upright without no moving after.
