only f-18s, because they’re so slow.
they have aged quite well, r73 are great missiles. aim9m on the other hand has aged quite poorly, r73 retains its niche and is still the best missile at its job aim9m however? not even close
I thought I was the only one, the R-73s are horrible right now. Switched the the Italian Typhoon and the flare problem went away.
completely the opposite, you could flare aim9m’s once and fly away in the opposite direction since their seeker turned off and they’d start using innertial guidance, but now none of the methods works. R73s are atrocious and have such a large initial seeker that they will get flared as soon as they come off the rail. Besides, they’re extremely slow which contributes to them getting flared easier. The R77s are terridogshit too and have no real use. They’re anemically slow and even if they have the same seeker sensitivity as the aim120 they wobble so much they will more often than not simply lose the target off their view. Besides i’ve never seen one pull harder than an aim7e2… oh before you say anything “don’t use r77s far away”, i meant shots from 5km maximum…
