Do you mind sharing how you use r73. My r73 seem can only hit targets when my enemies are not aware. also my r73 seems not tracking targets sometimes
Locking enemies with radar/irst helps quite a bit against pre-flaring. If you have the chance make sure to get within 1.5km before firing one. Sub-kilometer shots are almost guaranteed kills. They sometimes spin out and lose track or some weird stuff happens but otherwise they can be somewhat reliable at closer ranges from side/rear aspect.
The aim120 already has 2 variants and the r77 does not. So why are you so salty about it getting an updated version? Last I heard the aim120b is newer than the A, so it would be fair for the r77 to get one. American mains complain more than anyone even though Russia has had all of their top tier jets flight models nerfed and turned into boats. You wouldn’t be crying so much if you weren’t worried that a level playing field would make you get cooked.
the AIM-120A and AIM-120B are the same missile in every single way that matters. for all intents and purposes, there is only one variant. russia will get the R-77-1 when everyone else gets the AIM-120C-5, and not a single day earlier.

It’s still a newer variant that not my problem. They’re broken anyways. America gets 4 fox3 missiles. No one else gets that.
You say that Russia will get 77-1 at the same time as aim120c. But what if it doesn’t? Won’t bother me I have top tier USA. I’m just baffled at how defensive US mains get when they don’t have the best stuff in game. The su27sm can only lock 2 people at a time while the f15 can do 8, the f16 can do 6 lmao
Wrong, china also has 4 different fox-3 missiles (with potential for more domestic options and AMRAAM of the taiwanese side), making 6+ unique fox-3s
I do not think we need any new FOX3 missiles anytime soon. Currently every nation has their special strenghts. AIM-120 is best at longer ranges, MICA best short range missile. R-77 is in between, on top of that it is acompanied with R-27E/ET which gives soviets unique ability for long range stealth shots. If anything needs to be added is more potent FOX2 for China/Israel like PL-8C, PL-9 and Python 4. Ps: also possibly MICA-IR, ASRAAM, R-73M etc… to give alternative to FOX3 meta.
AIM-120 A and B are completely identical in the files except the letter.

Thats how it works though, AMRAAM is superior to the R-77 in every guise.
120A/B better than R-77
120C better than R-77-1
120D superior to R-77M (in all but high offsite bore)
260 and Meteor superior to R-77M
one of them can just buy without grinding too
Meteor and 260 are R37M level
but yeah 120D-3 is same level of R-77M
R-37M is a much larger missile so you would say it will be less manouverable.
