Nope AMRAAM is still better than R-77-1, plus F15E is so much faster than Su30SM, generally just better at long range especially in notch. R-77-1 is slightly faster although that is if they are at exact same alt speed and the enemy flies straight.
How are they better? I flew the F-15S with the AIM-120A. In every battle, if you take above 3 thousand, a bunch of missiles will immediately fly at you.
Here, a combination of factors plays a role - the ability to intimidate the enemy and force him to take a defensive position and, once he gets closer, realize his superiority.
I won’t even mention radar captures from behind.
Why would u take above just 3k alt, 15Es can get to 8k alt really quickly, and at 30km, launch all amraams, then use TWS track and notch.
In terms of intimidation amraam is the strongest for me at least, u must launch ur missiles to make him defend, even if u know it is unlikely to hit from 30km out. U should aim for 2-3 targets up high to reduce pressure and force defensive manoeuvres and send the rest at lower targets which are really meant for kills.
Above five thousand, missiles from half of the enemy team are flying at me, and no 3-9 can save me since there are missiles from three sides. And my 8 120x may scare the same astronauts as me, but most of them again go low, rising to throw a missile. The game again rolls back to the situation as it was with the introduction of the MIG-21bis and F-4E, and later the R-27ER. The only thing that saves is a really large number of dipoles. This all concerns the F-15S, today I will get the F-15E and Typhoon, I will see how the AIM-120B differs today.
Except an F-15E going Mach 1.6 and 10,000m, his AMRAAMs have much more range than the targets that are low and slow. You can shoot at 40km away while if they try to shoot from 40km away at low altitude they don’t have the range to reach you. They can throw a million AMRAAMs but if it doesn’t have a good launch speed and altitude, it won’t hit since you can just turn away.
If their missiles are hitting you, then you launched too late and didn’t turn away earlier.
AIM-120B play oh so much better, much better.
AIM-120A and AIM-120B are exactly the same in the files.
But for me they don’t fly into the milk like the A version with the F-15S, yesterday out of twenty battles I made only six shot downs, and so the missiles flew into the milk, at best critical damage and the enemy continued to fight.
No difference between AMRAAM A/B. I could 100% tell u that is a skill issue. I use J10 and J11s which are way slower, has a lot less chaff and PL12s do much worse, F15s are much better. Also when u get launched at, just so u know, u shouldn’t be launched at cause u should throw missiles before anyone else.
Well, I don’t know, but I flew the Typhoon and F-15E normally today, at least 2 kills per battle, there were 3. But I don’t want to have any critical damage or misses.
And so, in principle, the working tactic is to drive everyone down with four missiles and play from there, but damn, the Su-30 fired a missile at me again today at a wild angle through the NSC.
2k per battle is extremely high already. These are still meta even post R771 but that is the closest contender now.
The AMRAAMs are acting very weird right now but the R-77-1 doesn’t seem to have any issues.
I just want to gaijin did not forget about the PL-12A when he joined the AIM-120C5
