Why are the R-73 so unstable in dogfights?
I know there’s a big difference in this comparison but, the R73’s are a lot more stable in dcs compared to war thunder. Can gajin pls fix this?
What do you mean by ‘unstable’?
he probably means them wobeling due to the thrust vectoring
Well, as far as I’m concerned they work well, it’s just that you can’t expect them to do 180º or similar things. They’re better than AIM-9Ms in dogfights, of course.
this is caused by the servers being overwehlmed
on the dev servers we could see both tthe r-73 and Mica EM being alot more stable in their flight
the following video was made on a past dev server
and it was later stated by gaijin that it is due to the high server load of war thunder
they can on dev-servers when the server load is alot lower than on live servers
you can see this in the following video in which it was mistaken as a buff
It has TVC, all TVC missiles do it. You should see SRAAMs at the moment. It’s hilarious
Missile FCS issues, ingame thrust vec msls (sraam, r73, mica) have always had this “bug” (Or call it an unfinished corntrol logic) that make the msl stall himself out when launched at low speed and/or high AoA and/or high off-axis angle
If u are indeed talking about the wobbling issue, all missile do that for some reason after they deplete their energy, it’s just R73 does that too quickly when using TVC. The video seem to be a tracking issue and then the missile just gets lost.
Its always a coin-flip whether it spins out, or just crashes into the ground
No. Because the snail couldn’t make a good autopilot for missiles.
Seems to be an issue with missiles at low speed. I’m guessing since the R73 can pull a lot instantly, it has a lot more issues with trying to maneuver at low speeds.
that second clip was such a good notch, god damn
So surely there has to be a way to change the mechanics ? it makes no sense
They just spiral then pop at 700 meters xD
