Not necessarily. There are a good number of conditions where the R-27ER should hit prior to you entering the MAR.
AARHMs are superior in BVR IRL because IRL the line between being completely immune to radar guided weapons and slamming into a tree or other obstacle at supersonic speeds is much finer and harder to walk. This means that IRL there is room for BVR tactics to come into play, and the ability to pressure an opponent while simultaneously going completely defensive is a boon.
However, in this fictional game, it is trivial to be completely immune to radar guided weapons. Immunity while going on the attack TRUMPS being able to go cold while going on the attack.
According to gaijin themselves the F15 in game is an Air National Guard 199something refit of the A. The radar should be better and it absolutely should get AMRAAMs
The radar it has didn’t fire them, and F-15C will be the one that comes with AMRAAMs even if the F-15A’s radar is changed to an allegedly correct one.
F-15A should NEVER get AMRAAMs.
You’d have to be a Russian main fearing American 12.3/12.7 to want that.
In real life it may have been equipped with them, but in regards to the game this is entirely an opinionated subject.
Gaijin could totally just add AMRAAM’s to the F-15A and make your comment look silly, and they’ve done worse stuff in the past. Nothing is stopping them from making the unreasonable decisions like they have been for US stuff thus far.
Anyone think that Germany should get a Polish F-16C Block 52?
Again, the BASE F-15A couldn’t but the one in game is NOT a base F-15A. The version in game is a late 90s refit with flares (The A didn’t get flares) and the AN/APG63 PSP. And it absolutely carried AMRAAMs in National Guard service
And yes the 15C will definitely get AMRAAMs but I’m just not a fan of grinding ANOTHER 400k RP for the same plane with a new missile
It’s not the same, it’s heavier.
But does it have a more powerful engine right?
and I also hope that G-Overload is also improved, the RIP experience as the instructor would be worse if the F15C had an HMD but lacking G-Overload IMPROVEMENT
Some models use the same engine, others have a small improvement. The G overload is the same as in-game currently.
F-15E models certainly get an improved engine, but are heavier still.
A2A Performance of the Mudhen is evident if you check out the kill record it has. The sole A2A kill was performed with a GBU against a low flying helicopter. It can throw AIM-120 at things using that great radar, but in the merge you’re buggered.
Isn’t PW-220 a bit weaker than PW-100?
It shouldn’t be, not necessarily. The PW-220 is a newer model mainly focused on reliability improvements but the performance will differ depending on installation. The same engine installed on the F-16 will not have the same output as installed on the F-15 for example.
