I was wondering if it would be possible to delete the sights I had made in the new sight customization. Since Gaijin did not put an option to delete saved sights.
After opening the game folder (image below) I came across a user’s crosshairs folder, similar to the skins folder, and there were the crosshairs I had made, with the possibility of deleting and editing them right there.
After opening the sight file in any text editing program, I noticed that the sights actually have an RGBA coordinate(image below)
First: Would it be possible to change the opacity value, or does Gaijin deny this? (Could this result in a ban, for any stupid reason?)
Second: Can I really write literally any RGBA color? Because for me, it’s easy to find an RGBA color that I like (and that isn’t in the game), but since it indicates the coordinates, technically I could put it (would this result in a ban?)
And third: where is the relationship between the tanks and the sight saved? Im asking this because, as everyone knows, it’s a pain to keep editing the sights for all the vehicles. If I had access to the tanks’ file that references the sights they use, I could make a simple Python program that could help a lot of people save time.
So, would these attitudes result in a ban for any stupid reason?
Technically you are correct, but it may be a more delicate situation.
Because in this file there is other information that is simply not possible to change in the game’s HUD. For example, it is possible to change the font size beyond a simple ‘large’ or ‘medium’, or even the position of the information sprites on the screen. It’s because of these questions that I’m a little afraid to move before asking, especially because my account is old and with a lot of grinding done, a lot indeed.
Anyway, I sent a ticket to gaijin with the same content as my post here, let’s see what they respond.
And I would be happy if you had the location of the information file for ‘tank X is linked to sight Y’. Because I could make a very intuitive program to be able to change these sights dynamically, saving us a lot of time.
Apparently tanks with the predefined sight do not appear in the list.
But here’s the thing, can I freely change this file too? And also, this is the file from the last login, and if you change a tank in the last login, its name only appears in the file after you close the game. That said, does changing this file really impact the game? It could just be a backup file…
I understand, but it would be really interesting if some GM or technical moderator of the game came to comment on this. Is there a way I can tag them in some forum post? I really don’t remember
