Question about time fuse shells

With the recent bomber update I’ve wanted to try hunting bombers with the flak bus, but I noticed the only way to set the range on the time fused shell was to range find, which isn’t the best because by the time the range has been found the bomber is in a whole different distance from you. Is there any way to set the fused distance myself? Like how I’m able to change sight distance with a button combination? Or does that not exist within the game yet? I was also wondering if 2300 meters was the max fuse time irl or could it have a longer fuse?

Times fused shells are basically useless. Range finding is currently tho only method lmao

That’s a shame. I hope gaijin gives us an option to set the ranges our self in the future. The SF 40 heavy is probably the funnest vehicle in naval to fight planes with! It’s really effective at taking down bombers in naval!

this vehicle needs an update to it’s time fuze mechanic so that we could select it from the scope rangefinder without the scroll moving the cannon itself, you can still set the trigger by using terrain for rangefinder purpose but its not fast enough for multi target or correction

in real life germans studied the usual path that bomb planes took, time, altitude from their own fighters and placed entire batteries aiming at that direction

if they had proximity fuze instead flak would have been tremendously effective for anti air and even more as anti ground infantry, for the explosion in proximity of the ground could have caused huge damage to troops by enhacing the power that was lost into the ground with regular explosion

some times i wish they developed more the experimental tech, there was an early prototype of atgm, forgot the name but there was also a variant with a sound proximity fuze for aircraft; just imagine if they used these things on panzer 4 or puma as we do on IFV nowadays

You cant

You would need to rangefind distant objects or hills until you have the closest range you want.
