Pythons 4 be added to war thunder?

Just wondering if pythons 4 will be added to the game(like this year) or anytime soon? or are they “unfair” to add for now?

If they were added at this moment it would be the best IR missile in an instant. So they probably won’t be added till other next gen missiles are added. Which i personally think will be in the december update, but thats just my opinion. But if anything, expect them in a winter or summer update, since those are usually the bigger updates.

It should be added at least with nerfed irccm but gaijin refuse to do it cuz it will make israel a good nation

put very simply other than having IIR they are on par with say an AIM-9X-1

they have:
Dual band IRCCM
max G of 70
IOG LOAL
5-6km effective range likely in game, they would WREAK everything else

It doesnt have 70g in game cuz there is no dual plane mechanic so its 50 gs

It doesnt have iog and loal

No it wont it has similar range to r27r
It has alot of drag so after it stop burning it will quickly lose all its speed
It has max range of 15km thats it

i’m doubtful it has that range as sure it says that but you’re not hitting that range in any realistic moment in game unless they’re a level 10 a-10 player

Ofc u wont hit it its just makes my point stronger its not gonna break the game more so if gaijin just add it with nerfed irccm like aam3 or magic 2

so no it won’t it has a similar range to R-27R is contradictory because by my judgement the R-27R would have a range of 5-6km usually because it likes to lose too much energy before that sometimes

nerfed irccm? wdym magic 2 got nerfed irccm? it got dual band?

R27r doesnt have alot of drag but not alot of energy too
P4 is the oppsite but in general both will have similar range (maybe r27 bit more)

Magic 2 didnt have irccm at all when it got added but idk if it has dual band (it might have it so i heard but im not sure)
But aam3 does have dual band or even optical lock so it shows gaijin do that stuff

Smin said they not gonna nerf p4 like aam3 cuz they didnt know the aam3 has that type of irccm but its bs
When aam3 got added there was tons of bug reports on it so i dont buy this exuses

optical lock? IIR?

the issue is that whilst they dont have the seeker performance of the other Gen 5 IRs (ASRAAM, Aim-9X, IRIS-T, etc etc) they do have close to the kinematic performance of them. That would place them as a significant leap above even the Magic II and R-73 that are currently dominating the dogfights at top tier at the moment.

For now. I think we are just stuck with Aim-9Ms and all their bugs and half baked features for a little while yet until such time Gen 5s are added to all, at which point I reckon we’ll see Aim-9X Blk 1 and Pyhton-4s added at slightly lower BRs but at the same time as Aim-9X Blk2, Python-5, ASRAAM, IRIS-T, etc etc and I am of the opinion that could be sooner rather than later. Maybe even as early as December

i think gaijin could add an intermediate missile category at some point since mica-ir, 9x-2, p5, R-74M2 are equivalent but then there’s all the stuff inbetween like 9X-1, P4, R-74/74M. or heck might even be able to fit an AIM-9R in with IIR somewhere

Which is kinda what im thinking, but thye should be added with or after, not before. Otherwise you have a situation where some nations are either fielding placeholder weapons or current weapons and that isnt fun nor fair

Yea afaik aam3 has it

They only add AAMs in the state they know of.
They know Python 4’s information, so it can’t be added without equivalents.
