Tbh i don’t care if it’s added or not, I just want to see more unique/domestic weaponry added to the minor nations, especially israel since people always claim it’s a c&p tree, which without it’s unique weaponry becomes partially true, gaijin is starting to amend this (SPICE bombs, AAM-3/4, ASM-1/2, LS bombs, etc) and more is hopefully on the way.
I’ll still play the thing if it gets Pythons or not, but i’d prefer they were added in order to make up for the pretty mediocre FM, especially compared to the stuff it’l be fighting at 14.0
I’d like this, since it’ll make certain fighters extremely survivable in the missile spam slop meta, especially things like the Gripen, F-16I, and some other less BVR capable aircraft.
Furthermore it’ll mean the luck-based art of notching can be made significantly more consistent since you can jam the datalink to an extent, all up to gaijin how they model it though tbh
The way I have my lineups is AH-60, 2 merkavas, Namer and then 2 CAS jets of my choice, currently F-15I and F-16C, so i’ll swap out the 16C for the 16I
100% agree, it’s understandable that the major nations get some more attention from the devs, but there is a fair argument to be made that the minor nations are minor due to the lack of attention. How many people might have ground out Japan for the F-2A if it was added at the same time as the ARH f-15s, rather than after the Rafs and EFs?
A large part of modern jets capabilities is their electronic warfare systems, adding advanced ARH missiles before ECM is inevitably going to hurt planes that lack BVR capabilities and result in a lot of planes being DOA.
So:
F-16D Barak blk40 were produced and entered service between August 1991 and 1993
Derby was introduced in service in 1990
Python 4 was introduced in service in 1993
What did F-16D’s used in between 1991 and 1993 (and certainly some times after that)?
it did used either:
Derby
or
AIM-7 missile
therefore, i don’t see how the game could be wrong about that.
Drag coefficient multiplier (this is not the only value affecting drag, just because it’s higher than another missile’s doesn’t mean it actually has higher drag!!)
Smaller, lighter missiles tend to have bigger drag coefficients, it doesn’t mean its actually bigger drag
It should have less drag which is what the missile spread sheet says. Same calibre and more length = less drag. And since the drag coefficient multiplier was reduced as well for the 771 compared to base 77 it should and does have less drag.
Yeah I genuinely don’t think they would be that OP, like it would 100% be the best sraam in game but we’re in a fox 3 meta RN, like tons of people don’t even bring fox 2s on their jets if possible, and adding it with nerfed irccm would make its jack-of-all-tradesness a lot less pronounced (if it gets gatewidth it becomes easy to flare at range, shutoff = makes it as easy to flare in close range as an aim-9m), also the f-16I is gonna be SO F***ING MID otherwise (14.0 btw) (6 missiles btw) (mid flight performance btw) (aim-120cs kinda suck btw) (mid radar btw)
Also they could just… add it to the dev server and then remove them if they’re actually OP like r-73s were…
They’re the worst IRCCM missile by a not insignificant margin in the game. For argument’s sake, the IRCCM itself is equal to the other missiles, gate width and seeker shutoff each have their strengths and weaknesses (though in my experience gate width is way better). But the kinematics really let it down. It has joint-worst useable range and by far the worst maneuverability of all the IRCCM missiles. Worst of both worlds.
