Statistically, this shell should be a point and click pen to any tank at this battle rating. 175mm of flat pen at 100m, 0deg. More pen than PzGr 39 at 500m. At 3.0, it can pen a Tiger 1 at 2km. Yet consistently, you will non-pen and shell shatter on any T-34 or any KV. I cannot tell if this is an overperformance of Russian armour issue, or an issue with the shell. Either way, this thing is absolutely miserable to use, and I find the Lago 1’s 37mm APDS to be far superior despite being objectively worse in every metric.
This is the protection map at 1800m vs the T-34. At under 500m and almost face-on, the shell won’t pen. This is purely anecdotal from me, but I’m sure the experience is identical for other people.
Yes this useless pile of shit with no speed, high silhouette, no armour, unbelievably mediocre gun with zero post-pen damage and zero survivability should be 5.7. KT to 4.3 next pls.
I played it when it was 3.7 it’s perfectly fine, the APDS isn’t what you use you just use APHE, go either 10 APHE 4 HE and 15 APDS or swap the APDS and APHE, stick far away and only play hill maps.
I was messing with you before but unfortunately 90% of people will see the pen and that ist swedish and scream bias like the British players that originally told me that it was OP.
It’s definitely a vehicle of all time. Realistically it can’t do better in low tier matches either as things out reload you and are more mobile and with the small maps you’re asking to get rushed.
Imo skip it and save your sanity but if you stick to sniping maps and choose targets like LTs it’s alright by 3.0 standards, with the KV-8 being out I’d avoid it for about 7-8 months until the KV-8 gets corrected or you start praying Sweden gets good tanks.
