This is outside of my area of expertise but id imagine if F-2A has similiar NATO datalink standard as, say, the aforementioned Hornet, it should be good to go.
at least with the AIM-7P’s that radar would do some extra but it can’t with the M’s

R-27ER needs to be guided in, AIM-120 does not.
