Put the F-2A ADTW at 12.7 or keep it at 13.0 and give AIM-7P's

Need it or not again, isn’t up to you or gaijin, it had them in real life, should have them in the game, the fact that this was even made a discussion is actually insanity

No, that is and never should be the case.

gameplay + balance takes priority over “realism”

This is a Game, not a simulator.

If you really want a sim, go play DCS which is probably the closest equivalent to what you want

Second game in this thing today

Full uptier

Do you know the difference between mock-up missiles and real ones?

I guess not.

Why would it be carrying mock up missiles if it can’t use them IRL

Why did F-20 carried mockup AMRAAMs despite it couldn’t use in real life?

Think for a second.

F-20 uses an F-18 radar, I’m sure it could probably fire them IRL or at least had plans in place

These are not mockups, they are captive training missiles used to simulate a live loadout during non-combat training operations.

This just happens to be a large majority of flights, especially those that are photographed, so seeing live missiles is rarer especially for the F-2 which primarily isn’t an air to air platform in the first place and is more commonly seen with just FOX 2 or ASMs.

Most AAM-4 images on the F-2 are captive missiles too for the same reason, though it’s now at least somewhat easier to find live weapon images than it was pre-2013.

A mockup is just a fully non-functional display piece only meant to look like a missile.

Wrong.

Also wrong.

Prototype V2 which is what we have in game couldn’t guide AMRAAMs in the first place.

V3 was suppose to use AMRAAMs with new radar but project got cancelled before that happened.

So yea not every vehicle is compatible with every mockup armament that carried.

CATM 9M/120’s are also tranining missiles but everyone knows they are there for decoration.

In real life you cannot fire them, only simulate it.

I’m not saying F-2 cannot use Aim-7M but also haven’t seen a single sparrow fired from F-2 either.

Anyway debate wasn’t about whether F-2 can use sparrows or not, it was about identifying live/tranining/mockup missiles.

oh my god stop coping so hard

I stand corrected here, however it is marked as an F-18 radar on RWR in-game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if gaijin decides to mash vehicle versions together to make a “franken-plane”
JF-17 is an example of that.

Either way, the F-2 is staying at 13.0 and is never going to get AAM-4

Not in TigerShark case.

V3 wasn’t even finished and radar couldn’t even fit to nose without redesign.

So even Gaijin can’t make up such BS thing, you might say they did on Yak-141 but at least planned radar for Yak-141 was able to fit its current nose cone and placement of IRST is somewhat acceptable.

And the Fox-3 RU Flankers.

(I’m still salty about them getting Dual R-77 racks, I think it’ll make the Su-35S less special.)

I’d say it could, only AFTER the Tech Tree version gets more advanced stuff like AAM-4B and AAM-5.

We love the F-20.

Nah, I really like this thing at 13.0

viggen being marked as F-16:

I’ve said on the start and I’m saying again.

Current ADTW holds its ground at 13.0 quite well and doesn’t need any Fox-3 treatment , best thing it can recieve is the Aim-7P if Gaijin is willing the stretch their strict policy.

Otherwise people who complain about this plane should either stay away from it or accept the fact it will face better armaments or better armaments+plane combos in its current bracket and improve their gameplay style.

Are you referring to F-20 or ADTW?
