Yep, but for me, it’s the near-instant refresh rate that makes all the difference it gives me a real sense of my surroundings
AESA PESA what ever the hell it has, it can have a radar from the year 3000 you’re not going to do ANYthing with the AIM-7M’s
The entire aircraft is able to take advantage of the radar.
The AESA gives you knowledge about the enemy that nobody else gets, you’re able to locate enemies faster and better than your competition which is great for positioning, you also know immediately what they’re in and where they are, which lets you know which targets to prioritize and which ones to avoid.
The power of the AESA radar is awareness, if you can’t make use of that advantage that’s a skill issue

The AIM-7P is identical to the AIM-7M in every aspect; the only difference is that one has a data link, but with the AIM-7M, if you’re quick enough, you can almost always save the missile

Another thing that’s ridiculous about AESA radars is that the scan area on the F-2 is 20°
Yeah, although I do sometimes set it to 10 so I can focus a certain area
Against smart player? No it cant.
Against average wt player? Its fifthy fifthy.
vertical? yeah I use that a lot while going on the ground and sending a missile to an aircraft flying high
HMD switches to ir mode if your plane has inbuilt IRST which helps it a lot until the enemy plane gets out from notching position.

Thats rich coming from someone who has friction of my experience at top tier while having less AESA capable planes compare to me.
