Suggestion No.43
G’day lads. I want to uhhhhhh…suggest a rather…cursed looking painted and slightly modified Aussie Centurion Mk.5/1 skin for War Thunder, which was modified and painted at the Puckapunyal Army Base located in Australia :)
(Sorry if the following images might traumatize you)
History:
Spoiler
The Centurion tank was developed by the United Kingdom during World War II, with its design beginning in 1943. It was introduced in 1945, shortly after the war ended. The Centurion was designed to combine the firepower and armor of a heavy tank with the mobility of a cruiser tank. It was one of the most successful post-war tank designs, remaining in production into the 1960s and seeing combat into the 1980s.
The Centurion saw extensive service in various conflicts, including the Korean War, the Suez Crisis, the Indo-Pakistani Wars, the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Vietnam War. It was also used by several countries, including Israel, Jordan, South Africa, and Australia.
Australia adopted the Centurion tank in the 1950s, replacing its older tank models. The Centurion Mk 5 was the primary tank used by the Australian Army during the Vietnam War. A total of 58 Centurion tanks were deployed to Vietnam, where they played a crucial role in supporting Australian and allied forces. The tanks were involved in several significant battles, including the Battle for Binh Ba. Despite facing challenging terrain and combat conditions, the Centurion tanks proved to be reliable and effective.
The Centurion Mk 5/s was a variant of the Centurion tank that featured several upgrades and modifications. It was equipped with a more machine guns and improved armor protection. The Mk 5 also had enhancements to its engine and suspension systems, making it more durable and mobile. This variant was widely used by the British and Australian armies and remained in service for many years. The one I’m suggesting literally has no history, hell, it’s not even known when the pictures of the vehicle were taken. Only info about it is that it’s from the Puckapunyal Army Base, which is located in Victoria, Australia.
