PT-91M Pendekar - Malaysia's Agile Twardy

10.7~11.0 depending on how properly Gaijin implements it

How much has the armor of the PT-91M improved compared to the T-72M1? Can it be considered equivalent to the T-72B equipped with the K-1?

Its probably mistake reverse speed on ESM 350M is 23-24km/h someone just put wrong number

if upperfrontplate is equiped with cawa-2 ceramics it would surpass T-72B with K-1 protection without Erawa-2 even installed but turret is still from old T-72m1 so T-72B will be far better in this aspect

I see, so probably around 11.0 to 11.7 is optimal. If the APFSDS were a bit weaker, 10.7 might be acceptable, but since the M04 APFSDS seems to be based on the Israeli M711, I think it has at least the same penetration capability as the 3BM46.

One more thing I’m concerned aboutβ€”has the stabilizer been replaced? Slow gun traverse is quite stressful.

Yeah these changes used in malaysian PT compared to the Polish PT-91’s are mainly due to the fact that, back in the 1990s, Poland planned to maintain a fleet of tanks based on the T-72 chassis. It was logicall since Poland back then still had the abilitty to produce that tanks. The PT-91 was the first stage of modernization, and the next was to be the PT-97 tank, with modified armor, a new power pack, stabilization, a welded turret, etc. Unfortunately, as is often the case, it turned out that these solutions wouldn’t be affordable, especially in a country that had only recently rejected communism and was just starting to earn money. The program went even further down the drain when Poland received Leopard 2A4 tanks. Whole idea got scraped but new one born which was PT-91M/PT-91Ex which embraced some of the changes at lower cost.

+1 for Polish vehicle, this one is going to the Japanese tech tree for sure after they got the Malaysian aircraft added in.

Actually probably 11.3. It gets a bosnian M04 APFSDS which has 540mm pen, and the armor wont be all too bad even with just the textolite. It is kind of comparable to the T-90A, but a little better and little worse in some ways.

It would essentialy be a T-72M1 with the electronics and speed of a T-90M2. If it gets the CAWA-2, then id still say it should be at 11.3.
