Pt-76b

That thing has no place at 5.3. Stabilizer, 5 second reload, not fuzing 90% of APHE rounds and HEATFS with good pen at a BR where half the vehicles are open top is simply disgusting. The PT-76B could easily be 7.0 and still do pretty good.

Ok. Play it at 7.0, see what happens.

So… What about the fact that it can be penned by .50 cals?? I think 7.7mm AP might also even do the trick… What about the fact it sounds like a lawnmower going over gravel…? Another one is the post pen damage of the HEAT-FS…? If anything, there’s probably actually more light skin or open top vehicles at 7.0 rather than 5.3 where it’s at…

I commented some time ago in a post that the penetration of the HEAT-FS of the PT-76B would have to penetrate more. If this were investigated and turned out to be true, it would be interesting to increase the Br a little more on the PT-76B.

you have the thing, so why don’t you play a couple more games in it and get back to us, and no using GE to get the heatfs

Xd poor PT-76s are not suitable for 7.0, those lil rats can be front penned by .50

So? Ikv 91 can also be penned by .50 cals. Not to mention that not everyone has them.

Last game I faced 6 of them. Killed 4 of them and then got killed by a stupid Yak 9.

Yeah pretty sure that the actual HEAT-FS round for the 76mm cannon could penetrate more than that but was also lower velocity.

The Fins make the projectile very long compared to all other rounds, which means less propellant inside the cartridge.

On the tankagrad website it says 280mm pen and 550m/s velocity for the HEAT-FS round.

Not with the current gameplay at least.

However it would easily be possible to give tanks more realistic battle ratings based on introduction years, with adjustment to the gameplay.

The PT-76 can easily fight other light tanks or vehicles of its era.

A M41 can take out a T-54 and a PT-76 can take out a M48.
The problem is that they are not very effective at it and the current system with BRs and minimal spawn point adjustments don’t make it possible for them to be effective compared to other vehicles.

Instead of just balancing vehicles around being able to get kills, they could be balanced by how much rewards they give.

If your 1942 Italian 15t medium tanks takes out a 30t Sherman or T-34, then that should give rewards to the player and the team effort reflected by how difficult it was.
Meaning ineffective vehicles should be able to effect gameplay by modifiers that off-set their capabilities.

The current system allows to have equal team sizes and vehicles of similiar capabilities, but it doesn’t allow historical accuracy.

WT started out with a WW2 setting but now it’s just a regular WoT match.

The overperformance of APHE compared to APDS or HEAT-Fs doesn’t help with that either.

Plenty of 7.0+s can be penned by .50cals

It’s the same old thing, it’s gaijin’s stupid obsession with creating small maps and having a rubbish damage model.
I agree with you, the PT-76 can take on all light tanks of its era, and destroy medium tanks from the side, you just need maps where they give you some chance to attack them from the side.

play it at 7.0 i dare you, 6.0 is about where it would be best (also helps reduce the massive skill issue of german players)

Yeah, but it also has a laser range finder, is faster, better turret traverse and probably is a lot quieter…

Yeah, but they’re also significantly better than the PT-76

My M-51 sees the same face too, maybe less frequently compare to PT-76.

this post has to be satire or the world’s biggest amount of copium
the PT-76 is one of the games most sad light tanks

Nuh I’m genuine lol because I hadn’t played it, let me take it out and see how it performs then I’ll update, isn’t it has stab and heat round in a br where nobody has stab? The last time I played the M-51 it can’t take a single hit, which means the armor of PT is not far behind if both thing can’t take a hit in their respective br except it were slightly worse because it cannot even take 50cal.
