i just discovered something i think more people should know. i had been playing high-tier spaa, especially the tunguska, and i kept having problems where i would spot a plane in the distance with my radar, turn off the radar to make it harder for them to target me, then after exiting binoculars or scope i would lose sight of the plane, which would often lead to my death. i thought i was just imperceptive or that 1080p wasnt enough…
but no, its just another unfair feature. i just found out that “aircraft detection” described under the “keen vision” crew skill affects how far away aircraft render in. you can still see planes that are very far away with binoculars (it increases render distance by 3x) but once you exit binoculars, they disappear!!! if you are playing high tier spaa, UPGRADE KEEN VISION
