Hi War Thunder Development Team and Community Managers,
I am writing to provide constructive feedback regarding the current performance of certain Soviet/Russian missiles in top-tier air battles, specifically the R-77, R-27ET, and R-27T.
Recently, it has become evident that these missiles are underperforming significantly compared to their real-world capabilities and their in-game counterparts from other nations. Here are the main concerns:
R-77: The energy retention and drag model of the R-77 make it bleed speed far too quickly, limiting its effective range drastically compared to Western ARH missiles like the AIM-120. Additionally, its tracking logic against simple defensive maneuvers feels overly nerfed.
R-27ET & R-27T: The flare resistance (IRCCM) and kinematic performance of these medium-range infrared missiles have dropped to a point where they easily bite into a single drop of countermeasures, completely ignoring their advanced seeker specifications.
Currently, these issues severely affect the competitive balance of Soviet/Russian top-tier aircraft. I kindly request the development team to review the aerodynamic drag data for the R-77’s grid fins and re-evaluate the seeker sensitivity for the R-27T/ET series to match historical accuracy and restore gameplay balance.
Thank you for your time and continuous effort to improve the game
When making claims like these you have to provide publicly available (and acceptable) sources to back up your claims and then make a historical report for it using those sources. If you have such sources you can report it here: Gaijin.net // Issues (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about)
