i really enjoy the t72 family and iv heard very mixed things about this tank (though most of the cons iv heard are just weaknesses of the t72s as a whole)
If you are planning to buy it then skip and wait for a sale and get something else like the T-80UD or T-80U-E1. T-72AV (TURMS-T) is good at support position (obviously you can ignore everything and play as you wish but I’m speaking in a more tactical position, by considering the weapon, mobility and armor). T-72AV (TURMS-T) has the same armor values (if you don’t consider the Kontakt-1) as the T-72A at battle rating 1.0 lower, the only real advantage of the T-72AV (TURMS-T) at its battle rating is the cannon, 3BM42 is a very good penetrator and thermal quality; it uses a Italian thermal suite, hence the “TURMS” on the name.

Its situational.
Not as fun when it was 9.7 all those years ago and was dumpstering Leo A1A1s and M60 RISEs, but it can absolutely work.
Hull armor is bad, turret face is good, turret roof is paper.
It has good shell and thermals for its BR.
Terrible reverse speed, okay forward speed.
Soviet gun depression.
Bit awkward positioning, but far from not usable.
I have it in lineup with T-80UD, i use T-80UD on maps and objectives that dont require thermals and TURMS on open maps where i need to snipe.
buy the premium T-80UD instead
besides not having thermals it is better than the turms in basically every aspect
