It was US and German players complaining about the Fox and then Gaijin add the final evolution of the rat vehicle and in typical Warthunder fashion the paper never tested vehicle is superior to the actual real Fox that served for decades…
Xm800 is overpowered everyone including US players agree
It is a slightly slower fox with 5x the fire rate, half the volume, great turret traverse, and a full speed stabilizer, with good ammunition (especially for killing aircraft).
How is it not op? Honestly I’d like to see the xm800 be 8.3, and the Bradley be 8.7
Initially, ADATS was introduced as a counterweight to 2S6, as a competitor. It was BR 10.0. Now 2S6 is on 10.7, but 2S6 is better than ADATS, so it would be logical to put ADATS on 10.0. Return to its native BR.
Got a massive nerf, reduced in BR, then got a buff. It’s missile is still inferior to the ADATS but not by much to warrant an entire BR gap. The 2S6 is still a better AA soley because it can reliably spot air targets, namely A2G munitions and intercept them. The ADATS cannot do this.
The 2s6 is more suited towards top tier than the ADATS
Also, how is the XM975 fake? Wasn’t a prototype built and trials were done on it?
Oooo. ADATS has been nerfed multiple times. Now it’s a pathetic parody of what it was at release. It could lock on targets from the third person, its missiles were very fast. Now ADATS is the worst top SAM, and it was given one BR higher.
Hidden Changes (March 2025)
Removal of Neutral Turn Function: Some players have noticed that ADATS has lost the ability to turn on the spot, reducing its maneuverability. This change was not listed in the official changelogs and may be a bug.
Decreased Launch Range
ADATS missiles now lose speed faster at longer ranges, significantly reducing their effective range against air targets.
Decreased Maneuverability
The maneuverability of the MIM-146 missiles has been reduced. Now the missiles are worse at catching maneuvering targets, especially at medium and long ranges.
Missile Slowdown
Players have noted that the missiles accelerate more slowly and lose energy faster in flight, making them less effective against high-speed targets (such as fighters in afterburner).
More Misses Against Air Targets
Due to the weakened controllability and speed, missiles are more likely to miss their targets, especially if they are actively maneuvering.
Missile Invisibility (Smokeless Trail)
While this is a realistic change, it hinders the operator himself - it is difficult to visually adjust the missile after launch.
It was a jointly developed system by Germany and France however the US was involved in the manufacturing of these systems so I don’t really see what the issue is.
