That would be far from a first. all of which were based on the feedback from the community. there were a dozen other times they changed their mind. went all the way to fire one of their consultants once. and they also take other paths after taking a decision. the Italian was a sub-tree of the Geman once.
Israel? They got implemented like many other nations. First a few vehicles in other nations and then added as whole nation. Italy was in the german tree first too but I doubt they didn’t think of implementing it sooner or later.
It would be very very very suprising if they changed their minds. Maybe they remove dutch vehicles, which is the main reason of the controversy but belgium is probably a given as a subtree
for 3 years prior to their addition, it was denied many times by Gaijin it would ever be added.
