Proposal for Integrating War Thunder and Enlisted Progression

Dear Gaijin Development Team,

I’d like to share an idea that I believe could greatly benefit both War Thunder and Enlisted, while respecting the preferences of players who enjoy different styles of gameplay.

The Core Idea

Since both War Thunder and Enlisted use the Dagor Engine, I suggest creating a shared ecosystem between the two games:

  • Merged Progression: Players who have unlocked vehicles in War Thunder could use them in Enlisted’s combined-arms battles.

  • Default Infantry Access: War Thunder players would automatically receive a starter infantry squad, so they can try infantry gameplay without starting from scratch.

  • Choice of Modes:

    • Classic War Thunder: For players who want to focus only on vehicles.
    • Combined Arms Mode: For those who enjoy the mix of infantry, vehicles, and aircraft.

This way, players who only want tanks/planes keep the experience they love, while those interested in infantry and combined arms have a smooth entry point without double grinding.

Benefits for Gaijin & the Community

  1. Broader Appeal: You capture both the vehicle-focused War Thunder audience and the infantry-focused Enlisted audience.
  2. Stronger Progression System: Unlocks feel more meaningful when they carry over across games.
  3. Respect for Player Choice: Nobody is forced into infantry gameplay, but it’s available for those who want it.
  4. Efficiency: Reusing Enlisted’s existing infantry mechanics avoids the balance/performance risks of building infantry from scratch in War Thunder.

Why This Matters

Right now, some players wish for infantry in War Thunder, while others are worried it would “ruin” the vehicle experience. This proposal is a middle ground that satisfies both groups. It could also position Gaijin as the first studio to truly deliver a scalable, combined-arms ecosystem rivaling ARMA or Battlefield — but with War Thunder’s depth and realism.

I hope you’ll consider this idea. Even if it’s just as a special mode or experimental event, I think it could become a major step forward for both War Thunder and Enlisted.

Thank you for your time, and for continuing to make games that push the boundaries of combined-arms combat.

Respectfully,

Anyway, were talking about Enlisted players getting entire vehicles unlocked no matter their rank, while warthunder players would get…starter infantry squad.

just dose who unlockd it in WT

Sure sure, but still - your proposal is not equivalent exchange. If this “merged economy” came to be, someone who plays both enlisted and WT would benefit massively. If i wanted to give enlisted a try, id get…starter infantry squad. Correct me if im wrong, but arent starter infantry squads like reserve tanks in wt, ie. kinda required to play the game in the first place?

Rating will be an issue. Both games have different ratings.

This is a great concept, and I agree that integrating the two games is the future. However, as some comments pointed out, the BR/Rating mismatch and the “unequal exchange” are huge issues.

Instead of merging the whole games, what if Gaijin brought the Infantry directly into War Thunder (which they are already testing in Line of Contact) but with a smarter technical approach?

Here is a roadmap we put together that solves the issues mentioned above:

  1. Server Optimization (10v10 + AI Format):
Instead of 16v16 real players crashing the servers, use a 10v10 format where each player commands 3-4 AI squadmates (borrowed from Enlisted). This makes the battlefield feel massive without breaking the server.

  2. Balance (Protecting Tankers):
Keep infantry in a separate queue with CQB maps. To prevent tanks from being helpless, RPGs get an aim-time delay and limited ammo. Add vehicles like the BMPT Terminator for anti-infantry support.

  3. The Business Side:
Instead of a full merge that breaks the economy, offer Enlisted players a one-time account migration to WT so they don’t lose their progress.

This way, we get the infantry experience inside WT without ruining the vehicle balance or the servers. What do you guys think?
