Proof of LDIRCCM capability in IIR against Laser DIRCM

I know what they are, you’re not understanding what I mean. They’re all IRCM just some are specific. Like directional or a lamp style.

The AH-64’s LDIRCM at least exploits that. It goes through the cloned IR spectrum of the AH-64e so they are exact matches. Then it directs the laser around the seeker to drag it away until it’s completely defeated.

(from the laser manufacturer)

That’s why I believe it’s a balance feature, also iirc a source from the Mi-28NM says it can dazzle newer generation missiles as well, so this seems like an uphill battle.
I do believe it’ll be toned down by making it so the aircraft can’t dazzle more missiles than DIRCM on the aircraft.

Missiles like IRIST with feature tracking wont be decoyed by this as it would simply reveal the target if the laser tried to lead the missile away by pointing at the edges of the seeker.
Imagine the beam focused on the left side while the target is visible on the right or any other side.

Dazzling is proven.
The papers and my research shows that despite dazzling, IIR seekers can track their target

Personally I’m all for it being toned down but only to a point to where I mentioned above so it’s not completely useless against top tier machines.

I’m not sure if you read my post above but you should.

Dazzling is part of a defeat package that increases survivability. IR seekers with imaging sensors are not infallible and when combined with other techniques they can be defeated.

That would require gaijin to let go of it’s promise of historical accuracy.

I agree that they can be defeated but it is so difficult it is currently hard to even simulate with just an LDIRCM system
For it to truly happen, missiles need to be blinded past their FOV and or spatial flares need to be used in conjunction with ldircm

We need to remember that these systems are meant to counter indurgents with MANPADS

The game has been A historical for awhile with many different aspects of the game.

Deliberate ahistorical features are not a trend that we as a player base look forward to

I almost thought this was one of those fair play blogs, shame Gaijin will let this game rot in mediocrity. At least model TV/EO seekers for the missiles that have them, such as Spike and PARS.

unfortunately
they would rather just rely on an uneducated, un-deserving “QA team member” or an “Alpha tester” to handle bug reports. I am sure if an axctual technical moderator were to see this report
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/GClEIZyeyClV
he would agree and forward it to the devs immediately

im going to create another one immediately

Lmao the amont of bad faith of some bug report manager is just unbelivable.

@Technical Moderators

i hope someone educated handles this report (one of u guys)

A novel multispectral tracker allows hot swapping
(in-flight swapping IR/VIS channels), under the
gunner’s control

, the SPIKE LR2 system
is immune to RF, GPS, or other jamming measures.

Under gunner control” “RF, GPS, or other jamming measures” “The guidance system with fiber optic datalink

In the context of “Jamming measuers” sounds like electronic measuers rather than Laser one and switching “TV?” to IR demands direct control from operator which means in game rules given by devs is not going to happen any soon.

This doesn’t affect nearly as many players it would be needed to pressure Gaijin into something, unlike the other thing that happened with economy changes.

Most things in this game happen with intent known to developers, not because Gaijin is unaware of how something should be working.

Historical accuracy ?
We literally have fictional vehicles driving around in out matches, that thing is long gone and I’d say it was never really true to begin with.

The AGM-65D/G has both TV and IR channels and can be swapped with the press of a button in game. The game defaults to IR but in reality the pilot or WSO could use either mode TV/IR depending on what is more convenient at the time.

In game we already have a precedent for this: UV/IR contrast mode that can be swapped by the player or be left on automatic mode.

I don’t see why we can have an option to switch to EO/TV with Spikes before launch. Seems like easy job considering the code for TV seekers exists.

i assume strela doesnt exist in game then…

yeah because the majority of players have an OP LDIRCM equipped helicopter. a majority of players but a minority of nations
being USA, China and Russia

doesnt rlly matter that its 10 or 10 million. its inaccurate and that is that

this argument is a stupid one and so old im surprised people still use it

you wouldnt jump into a well because others were doing it

so why follow or allow the mistakes previously committed

“This doesn’t affect nearly as many players” I wonder what is the most popular BR… Anyway it’s not worth arguing with the Vatniks that come crawling out of their holes to defend DLIRCM.

Gotta love BOL. Wish it was modeled like this.

But excellent write up though. Shame Gaijin will leave IIR as IR
