if he has anything, hes referring to the total power draw of the Vibetsk-S (Export: President-S). which is, again, not the power draw of the laser generator much less the output power of the actual laser

nah, considering how the russian one lists the power draw of the entire L370 system:
- L370-1 control unit
- L150 “Pastel” Digital RWR, 1.2- to 18-GHz range, 360° horizontal and 60° vertical
- L370-2 IR/UV warning sensors
- L140 Otklik LWS
- L370-5 DIRCM / L370-5L LDIRCM**/** L418-5 LDIRCM, stated range from 500 to 5000 meters (not specified for which of the 3 systems this belongs to)
- UV-26 CM launcher, 32 rounds per pod
so all that should add up.
leaving a pathetic amount for the LDIRCM. proably something close to CIRCMs usage if not lower

Ah yes, another mechanic added to the game, that is modeled unrealistically (on purpose) to give a “certain nation” a massive advantage at top tier. When called out on said poor implementation, Gaijin seethes, malds, and generally cries in a childish fit, since actually representing vehicles and mechanics historically is against their interests.

Not much different from a spatial flare or even a normal flare
The MISSILE would LOGICALLY switch to IOG in order to not be fooled by this countermeasure
But SOMEHOW, in Warthunder, the missile TRACKS the countermeasure. Gaijin has made the IRIS-T worse than the Aim-9M when it comes to LDIRCM.
