Hello. I recently opened ADATS and saw that I could not lock the target. I tried changing the keys, tried using the quick menu to lock on a target, I looked at a lot of guides and everywhere it was just locking on a target. What could be the problem?

Its radar is search only. You have to go into the gunner sight and lock that way.

Are you kidding? But this is pointless? How can you find a target in a small square in this scope? But with the same Pantsir and the M-247 you can lock on a target from a third person.

Both pantsir and M247 has tracking radar which is why you can lock targets from third person view.
I would recommend you to use the air target command for spotting aircrafts (untill you unlock thermal sight)

I thought third person target locking was just a gaming convention. In reality, air defense systems do not have such a function as locking a target from a third person; they all lock from the sight. Now it’s clear why no one takes this ADATS and Soviet planes fly above us.
It at least alerts you. Once you get a ping, look in that direction, point at the jet, go into the scope and lock.
Not as easy as having a tracking radar though.
They do have that function. While not from third person, they can lock things based on their location on search radar. ADATS also can do it in real life, and I reported it.

Except they don’t lol they also seem to neglect their own shit just like everything else, the T-62M1 has a broken sight for like 3 years, up until recently they decided to fix it? I bet there is a whole lot of other things that is forgotten since nobody every brought it up
Yeah like how the Russian CAS was suffering, so they added the Fullback. Try locking with the ADATS at shit firing missiles further than your IRST can lock.
God forbid you don’t have thermals unlocked. Just waiting for the typical Russian main to claim “skill issue.”
