Problem with the Minengeschoss

I think the German mine shells are not inflicting any damage on the jet engine modules. It’s kinda weird for a shell with a considerable amount of explosive filler(90~102g TNT equivalent) to do nothing to the module which can be damaged even by the 20mm HE of ShVAK that has only 6g of filler.

And the protection analysis of the other HE shells in comparison

MK108 HEF-I

As you can see, the HEF-I shell of the MK108 cannon, which is not a mine shell, does inflict damage on the engine like the other normal HE shells. Could this be a bug?

just a wonky angle to hit from the looks of it

Made some repeated protection analysis test and got the same result.

Hoh boy, something else wrong with minengeschoss. Does it still explode way too early and after distance travelled rather than one a timer?

I can’t really tell it since I’ve been using the stealth belt without the SD function. As far as I know, the bug reports made by other players haven’t made any further progress so far, so I think it’s still the same as you remember.

At this point, it’s beginning to feel a tad intentional.

I even believe that it constantly got shadow nerfed.
Years ago the minengeschoss was very very good (i might even say best round in the game, it shredded everything) but currently it seems to me that 12,7mm do more damage than 20mm mine.

Yeah, the damage output is kinda, not that great. I got four solid hits all of them “crits” on a Yak and that thing kept flying with zero visible damage or impairment. Meanwhile if I get hit with American/Russian 20mm my plane desintegrates at a tiny glancing hit.

But yeah, hit analysis shows that it’s doing nowhere near as much damage as it should. The fuze/timer is still too shot and appears to also be based on distance traveled rather than time it was flying, and some other issues. And given some of these have been reported time and time again, with no acknowledgement from GJN we can somewhat presume it might be intentional.
