I hope the HESH is as potent as the one being used by AVRE because their size:
I wish, because I didn’t bother to buy the yank AVRE (M728 CEV) before they removed it.
Oh should the Obj. 279 become the same br as this tank?
Obj. 279 development happened pretty much at the same time. (Technically the 279 was done 10 months after)
Therefore they clearly should be the same br right?
rounded 203mm… if this is volumetric, imagine the WILD bounces
You already know it’ll bounce shots all the time even when it shouldn’t. Gaijin wants to make tons of money.
So yeah, about M107 on T58
Primary source
There’s a switch at gunner’s seat for shell type. AP/HE/HEAT
Hunnicutt
HE with 43kg mass
M107 in game weights 43.1kg
I don’t think the reload rate correlates with a vehicle’s era or time of introduction.
The T58 heavy tank is going to be 7.7 or 8.0 BR at best guess, the Object 279 can stay at 8.3+ as it should.
And this is why people like you should never be able to make decisions :)
You are biased.
Those two tanks are quite similar, and honestly if the T58 is anything less than 8.7, I’m going to buy it, and then play the crap out of it, because it shouldn’t be less than 8.7.
(Aka I’ll make its stats too good)
Obj. 279 is 9.0 btw
Especially since you want a magical 2.6~ sec reload. The USA tech tree already has the most premium heavies, (they’re very very good) and doesn’t need anymore, the T58 would make a neat event premium, but shouldn’t be anything else.
Ah, if that’s the case, the 130mm the obj.279 has, with its what, 10 sec load time should clearly be 7.3 if you think the T58 would ever be 7.7 with a 2.6s load time with a 155m.
Your crazy
where is that from?
one has a stabiliser and relatively good mobility
the other one has the mobility of… m103 lmao
Those two tanks are quite similar
No.
Aside from both utilizing an autoloader and both being classified as heavy tanks
They’re really not…

Obj. 279 is 9.0 btw
Yeah there’s a pretty good reason for it…
The Object 279, when directly compared to the T58, has all-around better hull sloping + turret raw protection (especially the sides and rear), better mobility with a P2W ratio + overall top speed rivalling that of early MBTs, has a dual plane stabilizer, has twice the amount of 1st stage ammo ready rack for the autoloader, has ESS for smoke, oh and most importantly it has access to APHE rounds (which are 100% viable for most OHK scenarios when compared to HEAT or HESH).
Literally the only thing the T58 has over the Object 279 is better gun depression, faster autoloader (still limited to 6 shots for the drum), neutral steering and a larger calibre gun with different shells,
Being triggered enough to suggest the Object 279 be reduced to 7.3, all because I asked if the T58 could potentially have a realistic reload rate implemented, is hilarious, mate.
Object 279 is in a different league, maybe comparing it to the IS-7 would be much fairer
T77E1, XM800T, M6, T1E1, T92, T34, T32, XM800T, T95E1, XM246, M247, HSTV-L etc…
Need I name more
Also, “based on” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. They have the same hull, that’s it.
?
Somua, T10A, IS-7, E100, 279, M6A2E1, every other rare heavy vehicle
The key point being it’s a rare heavy vehicle, not just rare vehicle.
8 second reload time. Don’t even try compare any other heavy to 279. 279 is in a league of its own.
What does weight have to do with anything.
T26E5, T32, T32E1, T34 are also heavy vehicles
Jesus. Every quirky heavy vehicle has been either a) premium b) battlepass c) event vehicle. This was never going to be a tech tree vehicle, sorry to break it to you. Those ones you listed are just bog standard US style heavies. This T58 is actual quirk with its oscillating turret.
You’re saying that like it’s a law of nature, not an arbitrary decision by Gaijin.
It’s their ball game, we just play in it.
