This is the R2Y1 recon aircraft. Fundamentally different from the redesigned jet powered R2Y2 attacker that was not just a case of “bolting some jets on”.

Do you by any chance know if it gonna have 550 or 650 hp engine ingame?
That the Stingray II isn’t theoretical? Bit weird to compare the R2Y1/Y2 to a fully functioning prototype vehicle.

Im afraid its not. The images you show of the prototype are the R2Y1. Not the R2Y2 as it would have been if completed. Its a different aircraft fundamentally, and not simply a case of "attach some jets to the R2Y1. Whilst the Y1 may have been marked to conduct jet engine tests, fundamentally that is not what the final R2Y2 would have looked like.
Its also nothing at all like the Stingray.

You are treating my words like an attack on you and the R2Y2, I believe the R2Y2 V1 should’ve atleast stayed. The Stingray II is nothing like the R2Y2 in terms of progress though.

Might be, but considering what a wreck those descriptions sometimes are I can absolutely see Gaijin writing this about 535 (Stingrey 1) → 550 “leap”.
P.S.
Considering this, it HAS to be 650 hp engine.

I mean an extra 15hp wouldn’t make it faster with the amount of weight added on, so unless they change it after this blog I’d assume 650hp (but for context, i don’t actually know any details abt in-game stuff before release)
