Achilles is an even better example of an exception. And the British Stuart.
Honestly I’d be fine with US voices, if they want… just make them the same in all trees then, and differentiate the ones in the British and German trees instead. It’s changing one number in a data file, I’m not asking for custom voices here.
Wait the AIM is voiced by British? I could have sworn they were voiced by Australians. Not every Australian sounds like Steve Irwin lol
Sure there is.

Do what you did with the Israeli Merkavas and recreate the pre-British tree Ram and Stuart in the British tree as new GE premiums and hide them as GE premiums in the US tree. Doesn’t change anything for anyone who already owns them.

Toggle the two Canadian-German tank voice settings to use English crew voices (American or British, don’t care which) before you sell more of them.
Done and dusted. Everybody who actually cares about this would be fine. But I’ll still bet they won’t.
Meh, you Anglos all sound alike to me.
Those were added before Israel was a separate nation though.
Same way the Canadian Stuart and Ram (and British Grant) were added to the US tree before Britain was its own nation.
That’s not the case for the C2 and 2A4M though
Yes, your point with what I wrote is what, exactly? That the German crew voices are fine then because…?
They aren’t which is why I asked Smin about them, but I expect they would be fixed in the future.
Two years and counting for C2A1. To change one number in one file.
They probably want to do new Canadian voices.
That’s one theory. The other, competing theory is they just want to make their pre-order money here while doing as little work as possible to earn it. Because if players don’t complain, they can get away with that.
It’s a shame that it won’t have proper voicing but honestly it seems like they put quite a bit of work into this premium compared to some others, like the OES or Pzbtl 123.
As a Canadian, I’m glad the 2A4M CAN went to Germany. I’ve been wanting to grind for some Leopards and the UK tree is dog water lol.
Ram was was built by the Montréal Locomotive Works which was a subsidiary or the American Locomotive Company based oit of New York.
The Ram was added to the American tree after Britian was added to the game. Not sure about the other two.
It would be a very long and boring topic to discuss the quasi-nationalisation of manufacturers in wartime, and Canadian war measures as they applied to foreign-owned businesses, and the like, especially when you add the complexities of the US not being at war yet in 1941. Suffice it to say “on paper” ownership mattered about as much at that point to the Canadian government that directed that factory to make them tanks, as if we went by the citizenship of the majority stockholders of some other companies that have made vehicles to decide their tree in this game, which I don’t think anyone thinks would be worth doing here.
You’re right that both the “M4A5” (still ew) and M5 Stuart came after Royal Armour, which shows even more that at the time Gaijin thought all the Canadian stuff belonged with the US, just as they once thought Israeli stuff should be there. They have since clearly changed that opinion, so both those vehicles could probably be repatriated to the UK now, the same way the Israeli stuff was, so that Canada isn’t the only nation spread over three trees and the Canadian WW2 stuff was all in one place. It really would be a trivial matter, neither is tech tree, one is hidden, no one with one now is affected, just migrate the GE premiums, the same way that’s been done with Italy, Israel, China, and most recently Hungary. If they wanted to. Which they clearly don’t. So clearly they feel Canadian customers matter less than customers in those other countries. I just think people should make their buying decisions accordingly.
Im a Canadian customer and Leopard 2A4M driver.
If you want my opinion, its that short of adding an independent Canadian tech tree, Gaijin is doing the next best thing with Canadian vehicles.
Yeah, but your opinion then is objectively wrong, you see that surely?
If they cared about your business as much as your Australian equivalent customer they’d give you crew voices, would have given them years ago in fact. If they cared about as much as they do a Hungarian player they’d have moved those old GE premiums when the country moved from Germany to Italy, which they didn’t do when Canada “moved” from the US to Britain/Germany.
So there ARE better things they could do, that they already do for others. So this isn’t the “next best” thing to a tree, is it?
At some point the German crew guys congratulating you every victory and loss in your 2A4 will start to annoy you. I’d just give it time.
