Imagine spending €80 and not even having the maximum number of crew members on board! Changing that number must have been too expensive for the developers. And this ship is tier 8.3, so it’s at the top of the rankings for France.
I won’t even mention the €80 F-16AM premium, because it’s just another one of those blatantly copied planes
It’s truly hilarious to see how France has become a real dumping for the Dev xD
Well, it’s not that bad, TBH. I very rarely got concerned with losing my crew when I was playing the Clem, generally it’s much more ammo detonation that would do the job.
I love how Oxy just quietly threw a : “Oh, gaining a few seconds of reload time isn’t worth losing that crew” to try and justify how the Jean Bart isn’t really a top tier.
80 € seems like a reasonable price to get absolutely mauled by the sojuz which is better in every single regard but top speed (which is pointless in RB) and basically invincible at normal engagement distances and even more so when somewhat angled. What a steal!
For those interested, the 100mm cannons are in chronometric (It’s definitely chronometric i think) or proxyfuse mode, but they cannot be changed.
And the 57mm ones are HE too
Having decided to double check (source: Anatomy of the Ship by Janusz Skulski), she was starting to sink at a 90 degree list.
It wasn’t until she was at 120 degrees that an explosion in the stern magazine happened and ripped the ship apart. Almost immediately after the initial detonation, there was a smaller explosion - likely auxiliary ammunition.
Of the crew, only 280 were saved. 2,498 men died on Yamato or in the waters around her.
Interestingly, the explosion apparently destroyed a few US carrier craft.
You are far more likely to die to ammo racks if you did a poor job angling / got too close or lose your unsinkability if someone focuses you enough and you don’t get him in time
As expected Jean-Bart is top tier behind a paywall (being basically a better Clemenceau and a sidegrade to Richelieu)
Right now Jean Bart has better ammo loadout than Richelieu as her magazines are lower in the water.
This means you have a better chance of survival even full broadside or nose in compared to her two sisters that get an almost guaranteed ammorack on turret 1 if you forget to angle.
Another question, if I switch to the test server and play, will I lose my consecutive sign-in streak? After all, I have been signing in consecutively for almost 3 years, and I don’t want to lose it.
Jean Bart is supposed to have a crew of 2,200 men in wartime, so giving it a reduced crew that corresponds only to a crisis period or reserve period is not realistic. Reducing the ship’s historical capabilities to make it inferior to the Richelieu when it’s actually superior in nearly every aspect (speed, reload time, main gun accuracy, underwater protection, anti-air capabilities) all just to justify its premium status is a disgrace.
This ship is supposed to be a true improvement of the Richelieu class, and I hope the rest of its improvements won’t be overlooked or scaled back.
No, this isn’t due to any real difference between the Jean Bart and the Richelieu. The difference is solely because the Richelieu was very poorly modeled, and I had to submit over 30 bug reports for it. Some of the most critical bugs have been fixed on the Richelieu, while others have only been fixed on the Clemenceau and now the Jean Bart, which were added to the game in subsequent updates, but are still not fixed on the Richelieu (even though, for once, all they have to do is copy and paste the fixes).
If you compare the X-ray (mainly in the forward and aft ammunition magazines) as well as the armor (mainly in the aft section) of the Richelieu and Clemenceau, you can already see the fixes they’ve made and that the Richelieu is still waiting for.
So Jean Bart doesn’t get improved dispersion over Richelieu '43 and Clemenceau even though it historically did.
Glad to see the feedback we gave back when Clemenceau was added to NOT add Jean Bart as a premium to avoid giving arbitrary nerfs to make it fit at the same BR as Richelieu was completely discarded, as usual.
Welp, I ain’t buying it then. I would’ve bought a premium Clemenceau as that one would not have gotten arbitrary nerfs and would’ve allowed Jean Bart to be properly portrayed, but I see no reason to pay 80€ for a gimped vehicle.
In short, Gaijin is selling us a ship that’s better than its two sister ships, but artificially limited xD
Honestly, who wants to pay €80 to not even have the ship at full capacity just because it’s not top-tier (not 8.7)? And to make a mockery of naval players who want to develop this nation.
This ship should have been in the normal tech tree…
And they can justify their choice however they see fit; they made a mockery of everyone with the premium of this update
Oh cmon dont tell me the Jean bart could actually shoot acurately. Next thing youre going to tell me it can achieve the incredible accuracy of the sovetsky fantasuz single barrel land based test turrets? thats literally impossible. russian land based navy best land based navy.
Also Jean bart surely doesnt need it, only being outclassed in every other metric by the fantasuz. An absolute joy to play she will be.
Between this, F14D, the unfixed russian top tier and allegedly AI generated copy pasted anime tanks, this patch is not looking good imo
And it’s a real shame considering the potential this game has, if some thoughts were given for game modes that last longer and take place on bigger maps, instead of having the CoD equivalent for ships, planes and tanks
