Pre-Order: F-14D Super Tomcat

Tell me why It cant have the ECCM/Sealed. I have shown you strong documentation, I agree its not the same as the 54C+. So…

But then it would disrupt the balance. This shouldn’t be in the game.

That’s a balance argument, not a historical one. I’m fine separating the two. Historically, the F-14D is documented with AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed via LAU-132. Whether Gaijin should add it for balance is a separate question. But saying “it didn’t have it” and saying “it shouldn’t have it for balance” are not the same argument.

The Su-30mk2 can carry the R-77-1. Why not?

Because computer programs can’t POSSIBLY be biased or wrong

That’s fine. If Su-30MK2 is documented with R-77-1, then argue for that too. That doesn’t weaken the F-14D point. “Other aircraft may also be missing documented weapons” is not an argument against the F-14D having documented AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed capability.

Well then it will be moved to 13.3. Which will make it unplayable.

You do realize chat gpt literally used this chat has a source

I could probably say the f14d used aim120D(with all its functions) often enough and chatgpt would state it has a fact

The document is dated 1989. And the first test launch was only in 1990. There’s a misperception there. The AI explained everything to me. You’re very wrong.

Maybe its a BR compression problem? I feel like it would only be unplayable in uptiers, I mean if the AIM54 family was modeled accurately it would have a huge range advantage I feel like.

Okay, I get it. You don’t understand the differences between the versions. That’s why we’re arguing about different things.

Explains alot

I understand they are not all the exact same version.

My understanding is:

AIM-54C is the baseline C model.

AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed is an improved C variant/configuration with better ECCM and sealed/dry capability.

AIM-54C with ECP-82 is a further engineering change to the C/ECCM-Sealed line, and the document says this is sometimes referred to as AIM-54C+.
