F15C and F14D are barely akin the f14D has pretty good radar, good rwr, and a the FM is good but compared to the f15C Misp 2 it has good amount of CM that are 60 regular and 30 large, a good radar w/HMD an has 8 dl channels plus it can carry 8x fox3 and pretty great FM and twr of 1.12 while the f14D is 0.94 that I do not find comparable to the f14D excluding dogfights even though the f15C has advantages in like with the AOA button but a dogfight could go either way. F15C draw backs would be its rwr and it’s somewhat low CM and ig the irst. for the f14D it would be the FM as good as it is it’s not 13.7 material not that it can’t compete just gonna be trying a lot more harder and then theirs the fact it doesn’t have access to a hmd witch is a good advantage to have and also like I said we don’t know if gajin will even give 6 dl link channels for f14D w/aim120

I mean yeah it could be a affect meta but it isn’t a reliable one since theirs factors to it making it go either way
equal to the 14.0 F15E APG-70 btw pretty good is a understatement
you also get BOL pods giving you 800 Counter measures a reltively similar flight model
desite tomcats TWR being slightly lower it maintains a similar climbrate due to its wide body 225 M/S for F14D and 280 M/S for F15C MSIPII
empty TWR is 1.05 ingame for F14D
empty TWR is 1.27 in game for F15C
and to carry 8 AIM-120s you need to sacrfice your side winders making you defenseless in close range fight
gaijin wont give it aim 120 in the first place since only one plane tested them and its balanced so it doesnt need a balance exception
If you take all 4 of them most people take is 2 to 3 and like you said theirs a trade off trading fox1/fox3 for fox2w/bol pods also depending on player having two more aim120 is more beneficial than having fox 2 also it doesn’t make you defenseless in close range plus most jets have guns if you’re that close
Yeah no those numbers make the difference and just provide my point the f15C misp 2 fm has the way better advantage especially if you trade 2 AMRAAMs for 2 aim54C+
Well I didn’t mean to under sell it so I will say apg71 is a great radar especially if you have the armaments that are good that add the cherry on top it’s like the f2A Adtw/f2A expect for the f14D we’re just stuck with aim7m/aim54C+ and no real missile to add the cherry on top and no tech tree variant with aim120
If people keep asking they can and you don’t even know if one plane tested it so far it’s been two YF14A-65 and a f14A+ or a f14D

Congrats, Gaijin. You somehow managed to piss off both sides of the playerbase with the exact same aircraft.
First, when the F-14D was announced on June 5th, you locked one of the most iconic and anticipated US aircraft behind an $79.99 premium pack , with no researchable equivalent. People immediately asked for a Tech Tree F-14D, and the answer — whether explicitly stated or simply communicated through the way the aircraft was released — was that if you wanted the Super Tomcat, you had to pay for it.
So people paid.
Now, barely two months later, you announce that you’re adding a researchable F-14D after all.
And not even a meaningfully different version.
According to your own announcement, the Tech Tree aircraft will be a “direct analogue in terms of load outs and performance” to the premium F-14D, with alternative skins being one of the few stated differences.
Seriously?
You managed to create the worst possible sequence of decisions:
1. Refuse to give US players a researchable F-14D when the aircraft is released.
2. Put it behind an $80 paywall instead.
3. Let people spend $80 because that’s apparently the only way they’re getting an F-14D.
4. Two months later announce that you’re adding essentially the same aircraft to the Tech Tree anyway.
How out of touch with your own customers do you have to be to think this is a good way to handle a premium release?
And before someone says “but the premium still has premium bonuses” — obviously it does. That’s not the point. The point is that a huge part of the appeal of that pack was access to the F-14D itself , because there was no researchable counterpart. Had players known from day one that an essentially identical Tech Tree F-14D was coming shortly afterward, how many of them would still have spent $80?
And somehow the monetization isn’t even the most frustrating part.
We’re apparently getting another F-14D with essentially the same performance and loadouts , instead of using the opportunity to represent a genuinely different configuration — such as an F-14D(R) with historically appropriate distinctions.
Meanwhile, the existing F-14D still has multiple technical issues and disputed implementations.
The Phoenix family has had repeated reports regarding its behavior and missing capabilities. There are reports concerning the F-14D’s HUD implementation. There are reports concerning its cockpit/MFD functionality. There are also multiple reports and discussions regarding the implementation of the AIM-54C/C+.
So instead of addressing those issues and making the aircraft we already paid for accurate and complete, we’re apparently getting another near-copy of it in the Tech Tree.
Same aircraft.
Same AIM-9Ms.
Same Phoenix implementation.
Same problems.
But hey — different skins.
At this point I genuinely want to know what the thought process was.
If a Tech Tree F-14D was acceptable after all, why wasn’t it announced alongside the premium in June?
If the intention was always to evaluate community feedback, why sell the premium first and only clarify the existence of an equivalent researchable aircraft after people had already bought it?
And if you’re going to add another F-14D anyway, why make it a direct analogue instead of taking the opportunity to model a genuinely distinct F-14D configuration?
Adding a researchable F-14D is absolutely the right decision.
The way you handled getting there is the problem.
You created an unnecessary controversy, monetized the absence of a Tech Tree version, waited until after people bought the premium, and then announced that the researchable aircraft will essentially be the same thing.
Congratulations.
You somehow made adding a Tech Tree F-14D — something the community actually wanted — feel insulting.

Nailed this. As if their treatment of the Abrams bug reports wasn’t enough.
Releaseing broken vehicles year after year which negatively impacted their player base’s experience. People who invested no small amount of money mind you.
Ignoring player feedback regarding the F14. Only to reverse course after getting a truckload of money.
Ignoring the backlog of 2-5 year old accepted bug reports to fix vehicles and provide the experience their players ASKED for.
Could continue, but y’all get the the point. The hubris is shocking.
