[Pre-Order] Battleships HMS Iron Duke and IJN Yamashiro!

Gaijin should just call these the Chinese Botter Bundles.

Only hackers with stolen credit cards will be purchasing these.

I’m glad the UK is getting a premium Battleship, even if it is after two nations who’s navies combined were smaller than the UK’s. But it would be nice to now see another 13.5 inch armed ship for the TT, not of the same class, but perhaps the Orion class to come after HMS Colossus as HMS Orion was Colossus’ immediate successor or the KGV (1911).

So this is why they lower the br of Marlborough in the recent br update?

I won’t be surprised if Yamashiro sit at 6.7 so that they could still claim there is ‘no top tier premium’…

Yeah within the time line in game from dreadnought to 1920 Britain had 53 battleships and battle cruiser of 23 classes that could be added if not already added lol

Yup, there’s something like 8 separate classes of ship that could be added to the UK for this period just with the 13.5 inch guns, which were not standardised. But just something for the 6.7 br range would be good. Currently the UK has 1 7.0 and 1 6.7 ship, to bring it up to standard with the other nations we could do with either a new BC or BB for that range as the others have 3-4 ships where we have 2.

My suggestions would be: Orion, KGV 1911, Erin, Queen Elizabeth or Revenge. All could be placed at either 6.7 or 7.0 giving us the standard number of top tier ships found across the other nations (despite Britain having the highest number and should probably also have the highest variation).

I omit Agincourt and Canada because of their crap armour. Other honorable mentions would be the BC’s Lion and Queen Mary but these would be placed at 6.3 and not 6.7 because of bad armour reloads and low calibre’s.

Perhaps I should do a post on all the ships i’d like to see which would fill current gaps.

Iron Duke is such an obvious prem BB to have added (Good reasons why) and so it would have been nice for them to think even slighly out of the box for what it could have been. But probs not going to be that good. You’ll face much better BBs all the time and just get one shotted. Until they fix BB balance, I dont think any Premium BB should have been added. I’ve not touched Naval since the last lot of Premium BBs were added, but Im guessing the bots are pretty bad

To be fair at least its a copy and paste of the Marlborough, unlike Renown which is a straight up upgrade. Marlborough supposedly does okay so it will work for grinding naval because this takes ages, you make like 3.5k RP per game but the RP costs are super high in comparison.

Balance is an issue but player count in addition to lack of variety makes it difficult.

Botting is an issue but Kron, Scharnhorst and Hood all demolish the BB’s that are botted particularly as the fire rate on BB’s is lower its not like when they use PE and Helena and laser beam you from 12km. The TT vehicles in Germany, Russia and probably America all give you straight upgrade options over the available premiums.

Yeah, botting im more worried the other way, being in a high light cruiser and facing an entire team of premium BB bots that you cant damage. As for Marlborough. I’ve one tapped those enough times in the Hood to know that I dont really want one, but at least that means this is going to be 6.7 not 6/6.3 where issues with bots would arise (which in fairness is where the otehrs are too. Just not looked yet, so at least they have been smart about that)

Agincourt is one of my fav ww1. It’s not top br but I really want it in game.

Hoods a great bb, hood suffers fro. Stock syndrome. Wet ammo racks helps a lot with the one shot issue a lot. Only downfall of hood is the accuracy for so few guns. Only 8 guns and they can be almost useless. Very uncharacteristic for British ships up to this point.

Yeah, they blanket nerfed all 15 inch guns as a way to balance 12/13 inch guns vs 15 inch guns at the same BR. They have artificially bad shell dispersal. Unfortunately, this has rendered the Hood and the Renown far weaker than they should be. Its a real shame. Especially when tech mods have made suggestions in the past for better ways to balance it

Definitely i agree, but Britain already has the biggest naval tree so i picked top tier ones simply because there’s an argument that Britain has only 2 top tier ships instead of the standard 3-4. You could of course say that it would be insulting for Britain not to have the biggest tree, but anyway.

(not too mention 1 light premium and no heavy premiums vs 2-3 lights and/or a heavy for other nations)

Thats true but a British Heavy cruiser premium would be burning the money in your hand. British heavy cruisers were heavily carried by having superior radar targetting and could engage before other ships could properly target them. The ships themselves were not particularly stellar at all. What would imo be better is more low tier BC’s that have poor armour but are good like the Invincible with like an additional cost of 5 pounds.

British cruisers themselves were not very good at all, they were fast, but the ROF was bad, armour was bad, guns were good but the turrets were also bad.

Anything you can’t kill with a destroyer the solution was a BC or Fast BB.

Yeah, I suppose, would still be nice to have though for a Premium line up. HMS Exeter prehaps.

But the Town-class fairs quite well in-game. But its a shame theyve not added some of those missing features. Would be great in Naval EC

My main line up at the moment for naval:

Spoiler

Wow, this ships are heavily overpriced for what they are…
They are not even Premiums, aren’t they?

I grinded Russia before Britain so I currently am suffering through all the cruisers to get to Glorious I think she should be alright but I’m not entirely sure it will depend on my aim, not entirely sure what I should be grinding for other than the Hood line, but other than G-3 there’s nothing to come after the Hood.

Currently I have the London and I think Kent as my lineup with the goal of just going through all the RP bonus’ to get a boost to my rp grind. I’ve finished all of Russia because grinding the Kommuna was easy as hell with the Kronshtadt.

They are premiums but they are also heavily overpriced. I’d expect to pay this sort of price for some sort of Iowa class or something, not ships that are 30 years younger.

British cruisers weren’t that bad. The guns were a well balanced consideration where the performance of the shell of I recall prioritised things like the reload speed and simplifies the design and reliability in combat environments. They were also built to police an empire across the globe. Britain had ditched heavy cruisers for battle cruisers and their math showed due to treaties they could build 3 or 4 light cruisers for every 2 heavy cruisers. So building 3 or 4 tines the light cruisers meant instead of having a light group of 1 heavy cruisers and a bunch of destroyers and some lights they could have many light cruisers and destroyer doing more damage then 1 heavy could do. I’m not the best at explaining it but drachinifel has done some great videos on them.

I’ve researched everything but havent played everything. London could be really fun, but man, 8inch guns need a massive buff

Dido is really fun and can never go wrong with Arethusa

But the best cruisers are by far the Town-class, only one in TT is the Southampton, both the event and Premium are town-class too.

Glorious i’ve not used massively, she basically is a Hood, but with half the shells, you have half the chance for a shell to hit that you do with the Hood, but the same level of dispersion, nailing anything smaller than a light cruiser from about 8-9km away is really hard.
