HMS Iron Duke

Dreadnought battleship HMS Iron Duke (named after the Duke of Wellington) was the lead ship of her class in the Royal Navy. Iron Duke took part in significant battles of the First World War, including the epic Battle of Jutland where she was the flagship of the Grand Fleet under the personal command of Admiral John Jellicoe. In War Thunder, Iron Duke relies on powerful armor, an excellent main armament of 10 343mm (13.5 inch) guns and devastating high-explosive and also semi-armor-piercing shells with a large explosive charge.

Like most pre-war battleships, Iron Duke has mediocre air defense, so in battle it is advisable to stay in a group of friendly ships to help protect against aircraft!

IJN Yamashiro

Battleship IJN Yamashiro was built before the events of the First World War but first fought during World War II. In her last battle in Leyte Gulf, Yamashiro was up against six American battleships with only 10 members of her huge crew surviving, with Vice-Admiral Shōji Nishimura going down with the ship too. In War Thunder, Yamashiro will be one of the best ships in terms of firepower — 12 main guns with a 356 mm caliber and 8 additional 152 mm auxiliary guns on each side!

The Yamashiro is also perfectly protected, packs a good punch, and speeds up research on any ship in Japan's Bluewater fleet!

Definitely good pickups if you enjoy getting revenge killed by CAS with literally nothing you can do about it.

Seriously though the rank IV light cruisers are better and more fun. Same with the Nassau. Why would you get that piece of 1910 junk when you can get the Prinz Eugen instead.

The problems of naval are manifest in every game, glaring even, and will not be fixed by shovelling out more top tier content. This all just seems a stupendous misallocation of your corporate resources.

Gaijin you’re crooks, not even a French ship when “La Royale” was released a short time ago? In view of your inability to make them competitive and provide them with decent ships, you could have provided them with a pre-co pack. The English have had several ships in previous upgrades, as have the Japanese. And you’re still supplying them with them…

70 bucks for a rank 5 is rough.

obviously the Yamashiro is given in the WW1 configuration and not in the version which she had in 1944

The 2 largest and most powerful navies in the world at start of ww2 getting more content is not a big deal. America, Russia got theirs last update and we waited. France will get theirs probably with Italy. There is another major update at Christmas so I see it likely then.

Looks more and more like World of Tanks / World of Warships every day with camos like those coming pre-packed. And $70 for a rank 5 lmao.

$70 for pixels? FOR NAVAL? They are not even premium? Are you kidding?

Soooo question will the 3pdrs on this Iron Duke class be activated? Unlike on the TT sister (which one mod suggests are saluting guns) yet in a recent chat with another player suggests they’re AA armament from their sources.

It’s imho regrettable that the HMS Iron Duke isn’t in it’s WWII AA platform refit as that would’ve been an interesting vessel ntm would’ve fallen in line with most other premium ships having more AA (con from my knowledge no secondary weapons).

I suppose that its an error - they must be premium as nearly most vessels from pre-order packs

Of course they’re premiums.

Now that’s an early devblog! Any chance of a second one today?

Then list them as such? Where do you see they are premiums? Nowhere.

Premiums are getting ridiculously expensive…

All Gaijin does now, is pump out new vehicles to use in our broken game modes. You need to re-evaluate your priorities before you kill the game.

And do something about the bots too!

Nice additions.
Hopefully the French navy will get a equivalent top rank premium soon.
The nassau for Germany was kinda disappointing in comparison to the Marat.
Plus the frech navy desperately needs some lineups in high tier

Guess $70 for the first two early dreadnoughts didn’t sale well enough as Britain and Japan skips straight to super dreadnoughts for their premiums.
Because dang, $70 for early dreadnoughts and early super dreadnoughts is still insane and I don’t want to know what prices will be like when they work up to fast Battleships.

Best bit is they’ll charge $80-$90 for a ship with outdated AA that has to face 9.0 jet bombers.
