And then die to a 3rd party. Maybe B will have enough engine power at low speed to get back to survivable speed range, but A will just remain a sitting duck for far too long to be viable in a dogfight outside of pure 1v1

F14A certainly can flare off IRCCM missiles easily, you just gotta stop afterburning which is super easy lol.

mate dogfighting at these BRs irregardless of plane is pretty damn difficult never mind if it’s an F14A, or 16A.

R-73 is way easier to evade than AIM-9M and AAM-3; AIM-9M and AAM-3 are tracking suspension missiles which is harder to evade than gatewidth missiles like R-73 or Magic 2.
Plus AIM-9M and AAM-3 are great for mid ranges, those missiles can get snipe kills while R-73 and Magic 2 are great for short ranges and dogfight, which are rare the occasions of a dogfight at that BR.
And we have F-15A/Baz with 4xAIM-9M and F-17J with 4xAAM-3 at 12.7, Why aren’t you caomplaining about those planes at 12.7? which have bigger payload than MiG-29 will ever have

That’s not a good argument when 4 of said loadout are sparrows. Sparrows combined with garbage radar and no HMD.
Give the f15a the option to take full fox 2 loadout- no sparrows and 13.0 would be OK

F-15s radar is not bad, it only lacks in TWS and HMD capability to be competitive against 13.7 and 14.0 planes. but its radar is far to be bad.
It has 4 Sparrows, I agree that AIM-7M are not good FOX-1 and cannot be compared with R-27ER. But we are talking about MiG-29 only has access to 2 FOX-1 and those FOX-1 would be the standar variant of the R-27 (the R-27R) In the end, F-15A/J/Baz still have the upper hand in payload and BVR than MiG-29.

The radar loses lock (for no reason) more than any other i can remember. No HMD = no fast re-lock-. The R27s are much faster too even if the sparrow doesn’t do sparrow things the f15a loses. Mig 29 wins BVR. 2 x 27s > all the sparrows
literally before AOA switch F14 was the most dominant dog fighter in the american tree being able to out dogfight anything that wasnt a grippen and even the F14A can beat the F16A if played well

it is a true thing A models a okay dogfighter but B models way better
If you have energy and engine power, yes but i was talking about A version which kinda sucks in this term.
And still dogfighting isn’t best choice for this plane.
It’s not way better, slightly better at most. Their STRs are similar. The F-14B has higher TWR but the F-14A can do higher instantaneous turns due to lower weight

Not the best choice for it but it still does just fine mate, the F14A is still a solid platform for dogfighting, just gotta manage that wing sweep. Remember as well the F14A is a lot lighter than the 14B so even though it has slightly worse TWR it still has better instantanious turnings.
Just doesn’t get that rate back as fast.
