Yes? R-60m is useless in front aspect and the 9H is better in rear aspect.

You didn’t prove that, I don’t prefer the R-60M over the 9H and the 9H is at 12.0 not 12.7

Useless? Every other or so match I get a kill or two from frontal aspect with them. I turn in front of the enemy with a lock and launch them at hobs while they are zoomed and leading their nose into me, sometimes they don’t even see the missile coming at that angle from the front.
9Ls couldn’t dream of doing that.

Good for you but I know how to use them in frontal aspect and my experience is they get flared.

Yeah, but after I got su27 i stopped playing it. For just .3 be higher you get the best missile bus at 13.0 with any su-27 variant, which makes it IMO the best 13.0, even better than the arh slingers

I understand but that’s an issue of BR compression. About every 13.0 completely outclasses every 12.7.
The jump from 12.3 to 12.7 is ok but the jump from 12.7 to 13.0 is HUGE

Having R-60Ms at 12.7 facing 13.7 is like using 9Bs in 10.7 facing 11.7.
R-60M is a weak missiles that most effective kills are between 0.8 - 1.5 km distance hoping they don’t deploy a single flare, I’ve seen R-60M lose energy too fast that you cannot trust it in a stealthy shot, just I love to do with AV-8C at 9.7 with the 9Gs or with F-4E with 9Js or with the F-1 with the 9Ps, I shoot them at distances between 1.5 and 3.0 km and still getting the kill…
Your only real chances in MiG-29A is with the 2 ERs but if somehow the enemy evade them (ER is way easier to evade than R-24R) you practically lost 80% to score a kill. R-60M are useless/worthless in 12.7, R-60Ms are average in MiG-23MLD and R-60M are okay in MiG-21bis

Why are we comparing 12.7 with 13.7? Not only are they 4 BRs away from eachother, it’s also the most compressed BR zone in the game. I’d rather face 13.7 with the mig29a than with the Netz or the F-14A with its ancient RWR.
At least r60ms are all aspect. And they’re actually decent manoeuvrable.
Sure one flare cooks them but at least you can kill unaware targets at any aspect
Because is the sensation every pilot gets flying MiG-29A with an outdated AAM, not reliable missile at that BR.
I rather have R-73s without HMS that R-60Ms with HMS (which has nothing to do with FOX-2)
But F-14A have great radar plus FOX-3 and as far as I know it is in its historical payload.

Yeah. I would also agree that yak 141 is best 12.7, it’s either that or the 16 aj or the German fa18c early
(Only 13.0 that might be worse might be the 13.0 sea harrier lol)
