I can speak from experience but, the mig29 slingin R60s they seem to have an extra 400 meters compared to when i Used the on the lazur or mig23MLD, they feel, better.
Maybe cause the Mig29 is a substantially more mobile frame.
Though I would like some better IR missiles on it.

Tbh the F-16A deserved to be lowered to 12.3, and even then it’s not that good for the meta even in full downtiers. Great platform, but unreliable loadout.
By the way, would be fun if we could have a 6x r60m loadout in that jet instead of aim-9L, which would complement its playstyle very well.
TBH the mig29 Im having a hell of a lot of fun in (especially rn at sale time xd)
but the 16v16 chaos is a bit much now adays.
Personally I think the 16A should move back to 12.7 however, as a pretty obvious statement , we need yet more decompression, EF2000 etc to 14.3 (or even 14.7)
and move the rosters up a bit.
OR fire it up to 15.0 and decompress from 10.0 up to 15.0
Ever since they added the F-16s to the game, I knew eventually the F-16A would end up 0.3 lower than the ADF/AJ/MLU. I just never imagined it would take so long.
The mig29 is just a comfy experience overall, and you can still be useful in uptiers. The yak141 is even better and if we had decompression, it should be put higher than all the other 12.7s
In my opinion, the yak141 at 12.7, ayit at 9.3 and rafale at 14.0 are the easiest time you can get for modern jets
12.7 is a sweetspot BR right now imo. Cant see 14.0 and get drug down to 12.0 thanks to f4s spam. 13.0 is feast or famine, but at least for russian planes r27ER remains competitive.

I try to avoid dogfights at those BRs, you can get 3rd partied from 20km away and its just a death sentence most times to be in a dogfight situation where you will lose a ton of energy, not to mention since you are right next to an enemy plane your nametag is visible to everyone and you are 1 HMD click away from death. So I dont really think r73 are that great if you get uptiered at 12.7, and I feel the 16v16 chaos that ARB is now heavily favors missile busses, only having 2 BVR missiles is not great when most have at least 6 some 8-10 su30sm getting 12? lol.
If we had air realistic EC where you had smaller engagements, more realistic dogfights, matches that last an hour so rearming isnt pointless half the time as you come back to an empty match only having 2 r27 wouldnt be so bad.
Quite rightly, though I do believe the 16A has no business seeing 11.3s.

mig29 has a good FM as far as Ive had it, managed 3v1 dogfights and won with it
The only similarity they share is being both VTOL, the yak38 is one of the worst FM in the game, the yak141 is one of the best.
Its easier to compare it to the mig29 since you got it (I’m more used to the 9.12 which is a a bit better than the 9.13)
The yak141 accelerates faster till you reach mach1, then it’s very draggy and you cant reach speeds much higher than mach1. It feels more nimble, and as far as I remember doesn’t compress as much at speed, not a big difference.
Has slightly better energy retention, and you can use viffing in dogfights, at 55º nozzle angle you can still use afterburner while viffing, so you can get decently tight turns with it and still retain some speed.
A well-played F-16 block10 will handle it just fine, but since you can usually start dogfights in much better positions due to your radar missiles, often you can handle 1v1s late game quite handily against stronger dogfighters, but most jets are able to easily run away from you after mach1.
The main advantages of the yak141 over the mig29 are better avionics (similar to the mig29SMT), and being able to carry 2xR-27R + 2xR-27ER. So not only you still have 2 of the best radar missiles, you have another 2 which are the 2nd best. I rarely bring the IR missiles since they are often 1 flared by most jets even at shorter ranges in rear aspect, and at long range will often explode mid air because they lose lock if enemy cuts afterbuner, launches a missile somewhere, or randomly flares.
Arguably the best after the Rafale, and has the best FM, but the lackluster radar is annoying to deal with and aim120s are a bit meh.
The 29 is on the lower end of dogfighting capabilities
Compared to exclusivly other 12.7s its medium/low end yeah. Still better than F-14s.
But what makes it competitive is the speed, HMD, and R-27ER.

strictly for 1v1s seems so, block 10 F16s are a worry but ive bet them in pub matches a few times now : D

I’ve dueled many mig29 pilots with the F-14A and won consistently against everyone except 1 dude that actually showed me that the mig29 could dominate while forcing 1C in the verticals. I had ace crew and was able to rate fight very well, but the mig29 has enough power to avoid the F-14 2C game while setting up offset 2C in verticals.
A well played mirage 2k will do a similar job.
There aren’t many 12.3s, but one could also say half the 13.0s are worse. FM isn’t everything
Mig29 FM is better than the tigershark, F-4EJ kai, Mig21 bison, JH-7A, kurnass 2000. Thats over half of 12.3 actually. Maybe I forgot some
no, we (or at least me) want the mig29 to have it’s historical loadout of 4 R73s + R27Rs.
Now the only saving grace of the 29 is the ahistorical R27ER that never used, you take that away and the plane becomes abysmal (suboptimal IR missiles, avionics and Flight performance)
Now, me personally i would be okay with it’s current loadout if it at least had it’s original Flight model, but that’s not case
The addition of the R73s would maybe include a br increase but i personally do NOT care in the slightest
