esport yea right!
got hit multiple times from 2150 meters away, I kept looking at the direction shots were coming from, but enemy tank was not visible, open country with no cover but still could not see enemy tank… confirmed this in replay. This has to be fixed.
This problem also exists in naval battles, where you will find torpedo boats and frigates disappearing into thin air at a distance of perhaps 5KM. They will suddenly appear when you aim at them, disappear a few seconds after you move the camera away, and you will lose the lock.
That garbage called EAC and BE needs to be ditched as it stops nothing but destroys the gameplay for normal people. Gaijin needs to create their own anticheat like Ricochet or VAC. Even the system like overwatch in CS would be a good starting point.
Doubt they have any interest in actually stamping out cheating, they only want the appearance of it.
Cheaters are likely their most profitable user groups. Most of the ones I’ve caught had multiple premium vehicles, probably rushing to get to top tier. Tons of them wallhacking right now, especially when most of the US is asleep.
Ironically, the players who get the biggest beatings are the ones who buy high-tier premium vehicles without crews. If the game is supposed to be esports, vehicle rendering should be eliminated or the range should be significantly increased.
I always thought invisible tanks were a bug, messy servers, or whatever… in any case, I thought it was unintentional.
Then I learned and verified that it was an intended “mechanic”.
I couldn’t have felt more deceived. War Thunder was suppossed to be better than “those other games”, yet here we are, with identical mechanics.
In Naval it’s even worse;
It’s ridiculous to try to balance vehicles when most players don’t have maxed out crews. Most will probably get expert. Now I understand why many premium vehicles got nerfed, probably because of the long time playing them and crews in gold their stats were inflated.
If you play a vehicle/set of vehicles consistently, it does not take a lot of time and/or games to max a crew out. And, you get Ace training for free with enough games as well. Nothing is out of reach for anyone, even for free. It is not the fault of a player who wishes to focus on their favorite vehicle(s) that some other players choose to jump around between vehicles and even multiple countries, and never reach max crew skill or Ace training.
Grippen requires 410,000 RP to research, ace costs 1,350,000. Unfortunately the meta changes so quickly that it probably doesn’t make sense to fly the same plane after the next update.
Counterpoint:remove Keen vision as a whole,in AB is even more frustrating because you tend to depend on the markers. Apparently, keen vision hates those markers and therefore you can be killed by a tank miles away that pops outta nowhere out of your FOV and its marker would be invisible.
In Arcade you were most likely scouted, also light tanks (and any vehicle with the “Improved Optics” modification) get 30% increased visibility range. So, someone can scout you, then everyone else on the team can see your marker. Almost certainly what happened. Put more points into your Keen Vision to help.
In esports that were so pushed here there is no place for such mechanics. We already have extended repair times, turret rotation times, etc. Rendering should not be limited by crew quality.
It’s crazy how a game that tries to be “competitive” have things like this.
You need to render a vehicle if it’s in your LoS, no questions asked.
You need to play engine/gun sounds in a given radius around your tank regardless of the LoS status, no questions asked.
Buddy, this thing happened to a tank which i have max level on the slot and the expert qualification
If you were in an MBT, you still have 30% “less” visibility range than light tanks. I play light tanks 99% of the time, and I look at a lot of replays where people think the person who destroyed them are violating the TOS etc, and 99% of the time they were scouted by a light tank before they got blown up. It’s a game mechanic. And Keen Vision affects GRB, as recent evidence has shown, and the stat card for Keen Vision clearly states too:
So, it’s not a bug, it’s not invisible, it’s a game mechanic. If you want max vision range, play light tanks/vehicles with the Improved Optics modification.
its a shitty game mechanic mind you. Its flat out unfair for tanks in your LoS to be undetectable
You know what would fix it? Re adding markers back into GRB 👍 GRB used to have markers. Keen vision has affected GRB since markers were removed. It’s only now that people are finally admitting it. I’ve been trying to show and tell people about Keen Vision in GRB for years. Everyone laughed and threw insults around. Not laughing any more though, are they?
I think the spotting mechanic for light tanks and AFVs is sufficient, a squad of spotters will usually be the deciding factor in most games already so full markers would be a bit much.
Its only because one youtuber went over the mechanic a while ago (and then all the slop YouTubers copied the video) that people realised how much it sucks
What a disappointment this game has become, they even managed to end BR 4.0 which was the only one that still had some immersion, they put crap broken artillery vehicles everywhere, 90% of the games are on small maps with uptiers
