[POLL] SPAA gameplay : rewards for intercepting A2G missiles/bombs

I am currently playing the top tier german SPAA, for grinding obviously but also because I like the challenge and the different skills needed to play it.
When you are facing severals aircrafts who are able to shoot multiple fire and forget weapons, and out of your effective range (because… you are not a Pantsir…), it’s far from being easy. Not to mention I think it’s not balanced, but it’s another subject.

So I think we should get rewards (SL/RP but not spawnpoints) for interception of incoming missiles, because :

  • Now with all top tier aircrafts able to make saturation attacks from far away, as a SPAA, you often have no other choice that shooting at them instead of aircrafts (who generally already turned cold or are dead low and so, are untouchable), otherwise you are dead. And it can also end with zero or almost zero points for you at the end of the game if you played only SPAA.

  • Intercepting them protect you, but also your team mates. So, it clearly helps the team (depending on your effectivness and how many incoming missiles you shoot).

  • We even have rewards for shooting scout drones, so why not missiles and bombs?

  • Rewards for destruction of A2G missiles/bombs
  • No rewards (why?)

Rewards for shooting down missiles and bombs should be at least equal to that of destroying a tank. Also shooting down an aircraft should give you at least 3 times the amount you get for destroying a tank.

The thing is, I play Pantsir as well…
And it isn’t fun having to deal with 3 or 4 AGMs launched within same period… my radar glitches out and sometimes displays less numbers than present… I fire at 2 or 3 and suddenly find myself dead because one AGM was invisible to my radar or straight up went invisible after I shot at it, and it has shown an explosion.

CAS has always been far stronger than any SPAA in-game, Pantsir is barely a threat, i have had times as USSR vs USSR…

And let me tell you a funny thing… I killed 2 pantsir via strafing them in Su-27SM… I had no clue where they were (no TGP) and needed to see them via 3rd person cam and killed them with my 30mm.

Spawns in brick truck Su-34, pantsir shoots at me within 10km range, I go up a bit, go down a bit
and suddenly the missile goes by, unable to get me, like the lethargic missile it is.

The only threat pantsir has against CAS, is funnily enough against people who don’t know how to waste a missile’s energy, AKA suck at CAS and ARB/ASB

For that Flarakrad have an interesting advantage : smoke system. Can save your life when you feel you won’t be able to handle the incoming attack.
But you have to reload after 2 missiles, while it’s 8 for ITO90 and 12 for Pantsir.

Agreed, Smoke is great against AGMs/Bombs that has no GPS or IOG in their ability

but those few updates are adding them fast, IOG allowing a missile to continue looking at the general area its target disappeared in and lock again, or hit the general area

GPS (GNSS/GLONASS) takes that further, and hits the exact position it has seen the target in last

Yew, can’t wait to shoot down 12 spikes in pantsir and immediately spawn nuke.

Obviously the idea is to get SL and RP rewards only, not SP. It’s true I didnt precise that.

Great idea. There has to be something done about missile spammers. Especially the tigers that sit somewhere far away and just unload PARS3 everywhere

On your radar you can see them, but not 100% of the time.
It’s possible to intercept up to 2 (may be 3 maximum) if they are shot from far. If there are more (shot by the same aircraft in the same time), it’s impossible to intercept all of them.
