(Poll) Remove South Kvarken EC/CQ from bluewater map rotation

Worst map ever. Just insta leave. Remove it from bluewater (coastal is okeish) map rotation like Black Sea Port, btw (for no reason)

Remove the 20km maps from the queue too for ships below 7.7 BR, they have no businesses loosing their time in such big maps, specially DDs and Cruisers as for some reason you can get queued into those maps in such low BRs

That’s another issue which really exists, but this thread is about single particular awful map

Remove ALL CIRCLE OF DEATH CONQUEST maps. Totally unfair when using 5.7 BR CRUISERS only to be thrown into that pit and have to face half of the opposing team with battlecruisers. Unfortunately that will leave very few maps as the number available is totally PATHETIC!!!

If they just reverted them to the previous versions with more cover and got rid of the 20km one, I think it would be fine. Not the best map, but it would be playable again. I always keep one version banned and one version disliked. I’ve had a few good matches on Kvarken since the last update, but most of the time the match ends with each team only getting a few kills because the spawns are so far apart now.

Out of all the naval maps, I think this one is one of the better maps.

Room for open water brawling and plenty of cover to avoid and try and flank.

The biggest issue is the conquest map being horribly one-sided, with one team having an easy time getting to the zone behind cover and the other having to file through the gap in the bridge.

So Id just remove that objective from this map

New Kvarken is an automatic return to the hangar for me. It’s just too big. Sailing for 10-15 minutes is pointless and a waste of time. BTW the same goes to other enlarged maps like Franz-Iosif and big version of Mideterranian port. Older versions were perfectly fine.

Thats the big problem with the map, in theory it sound as good as you said, but in practice the capture zone is way too biased towards open sea that the “CQB” zone is just two island for camping, and the actual CQB zone is left unused.

Add that now we spawn 20km instead of 10km away and is even worse since now you are you wasting 10-15min just to get into that camping position, let alone actually being able to push either on the flank of the open sea, or the flank in the CQB area that is now totally outside the capture zone.

This map simply doesnt work the moment you bring anything bigger than a DD, should be a coastal tier only map as that is where this map layout work well

i dont frequent naval mode often for a good couple reasons

  1. i own the battleship i care the most about (hms belfast)
  2. i cba to grind that much for HMS Rodney and HMS Nelson
  3. matchmaker takes a whole ground realistic match to find anyone

MOST IMPORTANTLY

Maps are too damn small for anything above high tier coastal vessels and conquest makes no sense for battleships

spawning to instantly take a broadside from USS Arkansas because spawns are well within easy engagement range is not only annoying as you didnt get time to gather your bearings on the match but means that there is zero naval strategy you can transfuse into how you play.

Maps need to at minimum triple in size so that squads can to good formations, players arent instantly in a knife fight and please stop that one PT boat sneaking into the cap point being the only reason one team wins. Make naval Deathmatch only with big maps
