(Poll) Proximity Maneuver Kills due to addition of AOA maneuver nodes

With the introduction of the AOA maneuver nodes being added more and more players are going to start crashing trying to pretend they are tom cruise.

This isn’t fair for the opponent however as dogfighting at these higher tiers puts you at massive risk. That is all pointless even if you manage to out smart your opponent if they just crash into the ground.

I think there should be a 5km radius around every crash and the nearest enemy from the crash will be awarded the full score of 1 kill.

As seen here I out played this F-18 he tried to do the AOA silly and lost all his airspeed and added to the grounds perfect K/D ratio. (0:00-1:30)

  • Leave as crash

+1 maybe not 5km but yeah any credit for manuever kills would be nice, should be if two enemies have been within X distance of each other for X time, if one of them crashes the other gets the kill

Also god’s brightest f18 player

Yeah I just wonder how hard X distance over X time would be to code. They already have it so when you J out it will sometimes go to nearest opponent.

Yeah the AOA node on the F-18 probably decreased there air RB effectiveness by 50% as they will nave no idea how to use it.

To be fair though I did not give him many choices.

I so hyped to start seeing people fall out of the sky trying to dodge missiles at top tier

yes the issue I see is people not getting any kills due to this lol.
It will make playing top tier too expensive.

IIRC it used to be that a crash would be granted to a plan close enough to it if no damage was done waaaay back wasnt it?

Honestly would be nice to have back, especially with this but for all tiers ofc. Always annoys me when people purposefully crash to deny a kill if you get behind them, or when in a prop fight and you cause them to screw up and crash.

Exactly or in SIM the issue of people Jing out bc they don’t want to be defeated.

Should also work for people who crash trying to multipath your missile

I like that idea as well.

I think that a 2km radius would be better, especially if this is added to prop tier (which it should be).

It makes no sense for you to get a kill because someone crashed 4km away.

Yes I was 1km away when he crashed 2 is perfectly reasonable

Kinda, depends on distance or hit though.

I think maneuver kills are a must. But I don’t think this is the best way to do it- 5km is quite a distance and too simple of a solution.
I see two main types of maneuver kills- missile and gun.

  • With a missile maneuver kill, you fire a missile on an enemy and they crash trying to avoid it. Or Js out to deny the kill. When saying crash from here on J out is included. To credit this in-game, when someone crashes give the kill to the launcher of the nearest tracking missile, if there is one.
  • With a gun maneuver kill, the two players are in a close dogfight and the enemy crashes trying to maneuver.
For this it’s a bit more complex. I’d think that each enemy gets a hidden score inversely proportional to the distance to your aircraft added each second or something. This score decays over time by a fixed amount. So basically being close to an enemy builds up your score, while being farther away causes your score to decrease down to 0. If you crash, the player with the highest proximity score, above a certain threshold, gets the kill. That way, the closer and longer you are in proximity with an enemy, the more their crash is regarded as your kill and not someone else’s or just a crash.
This also means ramming will almost always be a kill.

Your presence is causing them to crash; therefore, they are dying because of you, so… yeah. I’ve wanted this for a long time- not only for genuine combat crashes, but also and most importantly, for the dickheafs who slam into the ground on purpose to deny a kill when they see they are losing.
